credit to grimlock49 on CAG.

Frys.com has Clerks 2 HD-DVD up for preorder at $15.99. Shipping to CA for me is ridiculously overpriced, but I printed out the product page for a potential PM. I'm guessing it's probably a price error.

There is a $10 off $40 Mastercard coupon L3D4H9G, expires Jan 14, for use at Barnes & Noble. They have quite a few HD DVD/Blu-ray titles in the $18 - $22 range that can be paired up to reach the $40 minimum. There's another 5% off if you are a AAA member and enter B&N thru www.aaa.com/barnesandnoble

I can't get the Banes & Noble coupon to work, it says

Your purchase does not meet the eligibility requirements for this coupon. Please check your coupon requirements to determine why your order does not qualify for this coupon.

I have two HD DVD's in my cart @ $43.96 + tax, anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem too. You have to enter your credit card info at the bottom first to confirm you have a Mastercard. Once you enter your 3 digit code from the back of the CC, you should be able to activate the code. Hope that helps.

No offense but perhaps posts like these and Mr. Cinema's above could be put in the "release" thread.

Neither are bargains.

Toshiba's XA2 is currently at it's lowest price at J&R: $799 for those interested. You could probably order through Amazon for free shipping.

Damn, nice price....its not on amazon for purchase yet and normally you have to pay shipping through 3rd party vendors like JRs.

I wish I hadnt bought my A2 now. Oh well, i may upgrade in the future.

For people that don't check the DVD Bargains forum. Google Checkout $10 off $10 is back!
http://checkout.google.com/signupbonus

As of right now you can just use your existing account(s) and "sign up" with them and it will give you the discount.

Was able to get Beerfest for $12.34 from DVDEmpire.

It seems to be one use per account. A different email address may be all you need to setup a new account. I have placed two orders with two accounts and the only thing different is the email (same name, address, and credit card number). I do not recommend placing tons of orders like this, but you should be fine with only a couple. I got Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas and Casino HD DVDs for $13.46 shipped each.

Is it just me, or did Amazon lower the prices on their HD DVD's? I think some of the ones that were over $20 are now $19.95.

That is even without the HDDISC10 10% off.

Maybe pricegrabber was just way off when I was pricing the HD DVD's.

Any insight would be greatly helpful.

I keep a list of all the HD DVD's on Amazon with prices and do not show any of them have gone down. All of the prices are the same as they have been for quite a while except for a few that went up in price, Casino (+$5), World Trade Center (+$5), & MI3 (+$3).

A good chunk of the HD DVD's on Amazon have always been $19.95.

I guess that goes to show that you can't trust pricegrabber.

Are we all in agreement that, excluding one shot deals like Google Checkout, Amazon is the cheapest place to get HD DVD's?

Frys.com Clerks 2 HD-DVD Preorder $15

If anyone's interested, that seems like a relatively cheap price...

They also have The Guardian for BD for that price, if anyone cares.

Unfortunately, when I checked the shipping, it was over $6 for the cheapest method, which kind of kills the deal. Maybe if I add something else I could spread out the shipping, or will they charge more?

Not sure if it's been posted, but I signed up for the Warner Bros. newsletter on their Home Video page and they e-mailed a coupon for 20% off everything in the store, HD DVD and Blu-Ray included. Says it's valid for 7 days from receipt. The code is WBNews, not sure if you need to be signed up to use it or not. I bought a few titles for about $15 each.

Click on the special offers picture on the left hand side.
