I got 4 titles yesterday. The regular pricing is higher, but they have a much, much better selection than any other B&M I've seen. Saw another guy there with a huge stack of titles. I'll go back before Sunday and get a few more. At least they are getting attention this week and are actually on sale. Wonder how long it was before dvds were on sale.

And it's $25 for the 3 discs...when buying the one would have been $18 at amazon.

I seriously don't understand the love for this deal. it sucks.

I'm only buying $24.99 titles. Getting 3 makes them about $18+ each. So it's close to Amazon pricing, but I do get them that same day.

Digi! Shhhhh!!! Folks are buyin' HD-DVDs!!

Of course you're right -- any way you slice it, AT BEST this deal only EQUALS the prices on Amazon. At the same time, though, you can walk into a Best Buy, plunk down some change (albeit a hefty chunk of change), and walk out with discs in hand. THAT's worth something . . .

Exactly.

AND, amazon occasionally delays in sending some titles.

There are benefits to walking in to Best Buy versus going online. In this case, I would do it (and very well might today), but for their regular prices, no way.

I totalled up the titles that I want. At amazon, its $54 and at BB, its $59.50. So, about $5.50 difference. BUT, Bullitt says 4-6 weeks on amazon.

I dont mind paying a couple dollars more per disc as long as I get them today. Plus, my brother got the free 300 ticket with his purchase the other day. I hope they still have some left.

I don't have to wait and I don't have to hassle with sending back my disc because it rattled around in the case (already happened twice to me with HD DVDs from Amazon) so I consider the deal well worth it. I'm paying slightly more for having them that day from a store 10 minutes from me. I only grabbed the $24.99 ones anyway.

There is also the slim chance that HD DVDs selling well during the sale could encourage Best Buy to lower its prices.

BTW, the Wal-Mart by me also added a section of BD and HD DVD movies and they are cheaper than Best Buy so its another option for quick gratification.

If i didn't have gift cards i wouldn't have bought from best buy. Best Buys prices suck for pretty much everything, so when you find something close to a decent deal you gotta jump on it.

This is the exact reason why I bought my new A2 (with 4 free HD movies) on Sunday and will be picking up a 3 pack of HD DVD movies this evening - the slight chance that my purchase at the store helps out with overall sales of HD product at BB.

I saw several $18.99 HD-DVDs at Best Buy, most likely wrong prices.

If I remember right, I think Space Cowboys, Troy, House of Wax, and Lethal Weapon 2 were all marked at $18.99 the week they came out. They went up to $24.99 a few weeks later, though. That said, I guess some stores like yours must have a few lying around which didn't get changed . . .

I've seen Space Cowboys and Lethal Weapon 2 for $18.99 and i saw 2 fast 2 furious for $19.99. These were obviously previous prices, infact, i Space Cowboys had two price labels on it with $18.99 and $24.99. I guess they were too lazy to remove/cover up the old price.

At one of the local stores House of Wax was $18.99 then went up to $24.99, and now it's back to $18.99. The same goes for Leathal Weapon also.

$21.99 x 2 minus the $10 discount sounds like a great price for the Super-Duper-Man movies, though. Better than Amazon, even . . .

I'll stop at Best Buy tommorow and see what they have left under $25. I need a few more points on my reward zone card to get $20 back anyway.

Best Buy has free HD-DVD and Blu-Ray demo discs of the new Nine Inch Nails "Beside You in Time" DVD. They were sitting with all the other HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs.

This is really sweet if you can pricematch amazon.com prices. I just picked up some HD titles with target.com printouts to PM. Purchased Fearless (BB wanted $39.99 for this, ridiculous), Babel, and Batman Begins for $56 and change after the automatic $20 discount. I did this at the customer service desk, but had a young, laid back kid ring it up. Once he hit total, it prompted him to apply the discount.

I would suggest maybe PMing, but throwing in some other items to purchase as well. It might make it less obvious that the discount afterwards were for the HD purchases.

My deal was good and bad. I found a copy of Crank on Blu-Ray that was mispriced at $24.99, so they went ahead and honored that. But they wouldn't include the new NIN disc in the promo, so instead of $20 off of 3, I got $10 off of 2, since I picked up The Prestige as well. I didn't think about it until I got in my car, but I should have picked up Jay & Silent Bob to get the extra 10 bucks, and used my PS3 rebate on it. Oh well, still a decent deal, since I had $20 in rewards certificates to use.

This was at the Westminster, CA location. I frequent both this one and the Orange, CA store. Both are really lenient about PMing and applying coupons and such.

Mine didn't have any. I couldn't find any of this weeks releases either so maybe they didn't put them out yet.

I picked up Pulse and Lucky Number Slevin though.

I did two transactions and the PMing didn't work with the $20 off. They applied the promo too. What the computer did was take off atleast $6.67 off. By that I mean the non PMed titles got $6.67 off and with the PM'ed titles, if the Price Match difference was less than $6.67, it added an additional discount to make it $6.67. And if the PM difference was greater than $6.67, it didnt take any additional off.
