I was checking out Amazon's HD-DVDs and found two listings for Omega Man with a format of HD-DVD being released on November 27.
The one at the following link can be pre-ordered for only $9.95!
http://www.amazon.com/Omega-Man-Heston/dp/B000VAHR0A
Now this one says the format is HD-DVD but the other, which sells for $19.95 also has [HD-DVD] in the title. So I have no idea what you're in for by ordering but that's one hell of a price! I don't remember enjoying the movie but since it's so cheap I'm not sure if I should reconsider taking a chance on this and preorder it with Blade Runner (this way even if I have to cancel Omega Man I still get free shipping)...
Anyway, good luck if you try ordering it.

If you search for "omega man HD", 2 titles show up listing it as HD. Clicking through on the link Space Monkey provided takes you to what looks like the SD version. It has a different ASIN than the HD-DVD. The search result is just mis-labeled, from what I see.

Plus, if you read the description from the linked Omega Man, you find at the end
"representing our species' hope. Year: 1971 Sound: ENG, FR; Subtitles: ENG, FR Screen Format: Side A: Standard; Side B: Wiedescreen"
This would suggest "Standard" meaning foolscreen? I don't think that this is HD and as bretski stated, just mis-labled.

I indicated its risky as to what they are actually listing and it may be an SD rerelease.
The Format was listed just below where the cover art would be. Also it shows up when you're in the HD-DVD substore and search.
It could very well be the SD version as I saw that the ASIN(B000VAHR0A) was different than the other HD-DVD listing(B000VAHR1E). I've seen duplicate listings that got merged once before so I just relied on the format stating HD-DVD for now. They'd have to address this with any customers innocently ordering a presumed HD-DVD version right?
I saw that but if you take a look at the description on the other HD-DVD listing here
http://www.amazon.com/Omega-Man-HD-DVD/dp/B000VAHR1E
It had the same product description and so does the Blu-Ray so I couldn't use that to rule it out.
I'm not arguing since I'm just as skeptical that it probably is a mislabeled SD re-release, I'm just clarifying my reasons for uncertainty in my original post.

Is it me, or does fye.com have the WORST navigation around. You can't find HD or BR titles to save your soul, and they apparently carry NO version of Troy whatsoever. Yeesh.

Troy: Director's Cut DVD
Links to the other versions - HD, Blu, original cut - are on the right side of that page.

Second Spin HD-DVDs
As posted in the DVD Bargains forum by bwsmom SecondSpin is having a 25% off sale from now until 10/4. The code is 25off928. Just thought I would re-post it here as I have already used it to get The Last Samurai and Training Day for $12.74 each (after S&H and NY tax). If you have to pay tax like I do and given that there is no free shipping, it may not be that big of a bargain on all of their HD titles, but it works nicely on their cheaper titles.

Oh what the fuck. I haven't even gotten my free discs yet but they fucking sucked. All the choices were shit. I didn't want any of them. Now they're offering Superman, Full Metal Jacket, American Psycho, and the Prestige (which I already have)? Fucking bitches.

Warm deal but Amazon.com has The Shining (Blu-ray) and 2001 (both formats) for $18.95 each. Good deal if you have Prime and the 10%.

Both Top Gun and Failure to Launch are $13.50 each at Frys.com right now. Shipping kills it, but I hope these titles will be in their ads tomorrow at that price.
