It's been months since I've been to CompUSA. I never noticed any HD discs there. Did they carry them?

It's been a year or so since I've been in that store. I'm actually headed out to Glenwood to pick up the Samsung BD player so I figure I will stop and check.

Popped into my local CompUSA today and picked up First Blood (BD) and The Sting (HD) for $14.99 each. Not bad!

Best Buy has Breach up for pre-order for $24.99. They have the list price correct at $39.99, so this doesn't appear to be a price mistake.

Unless there are some hidden, I bought the last high-definition movie from the CompUSA on Glenwood Ave. 50 First Dates for $12.49 (movies are now 50% off).

credit to masterob1 on the hdd forum.

dvdpacific has The Fountain HD/DVD combo for $21.17 shipped. Probably a price mistake as it's even cheaper than Amazon with 10% discount.

It should be a standard 50% off of all DVDs, including BD and HD

Nice find! I was hesitant to blind buy this title, but for that price it's worth picking up.

Has anyone ever used DVDPacific? Is that the same place that had the National Geographic deal a few years ago where everyone got weird credit card charges, something with LIPS in the itle for the charge?

I know they have a bad reputation on this forum although I don't remember exactly why. I seem to recall credit card numbers being published on their site, although that could be someone else.

My CompUsa is on it's last legs. Went there yesterday and everything was pretty much gone with most of the store cordoned off. They had a few copies of The Sting on HD-DVD and a few Memento and Into The Blue Blu-Rays, which I picked up for 50% off ($12.50).

The CompUSA I went to was almost completely empty. All they had was a few standard DVDs of like 3 movies I've never heard of.

The San Diego Fry's has a Buy 2 Get 1 Free for select Blu-Ray discs in their ad today. There are 10 titles shown for $24.99 including Casino Royale, Rocky Balboa, and Open Season. There are about 15 titles shown for $19.99 including Black Hawk Down and Tears Of The Sun. The ad says the free one has to be the same price as the other 2.

This is online only, but Best Buy is offering another deal on Blu-ray. Buy 2, save $10 or Buy 3, save $20:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....at120300050044

Unfortunately, it is only on those selected titles.

Yep. With the discount, Amazon is still cheaper. That is how utterly and pathetically uncompetitive Best Buy's prices are...

It's an okay deal if you wanted the titles now and not wait for shipping. I wouldn't have a problem paying $25 each for some of those Disney titles if it meant I could pick them up the same day.

I thought you said this was on-line only? If so, Best Buy takes a lot longer to ship to me than Amazon, even without the Prime 2-Day Shipping.

Anyway, it isn't that I don't appreciate the heads-up, I do. I guess I'm just kind of in awe at how Amazon has completely locked up all of my HD optical disc purchasing with the exception of that Warner Bros. Online deal a month or so back. There's barely any reason to even bothering looking anywhere else if you've got the 10% discount.

You can do in-store pickup if they have the items in stock at a local store.
