Oh you should....it looks near HD on the A1....also, the special features are great!

I digress...sorry

Re: Your 7/11 "Classical Touch" titles:

I'm borderline-100% certain that those BCI titles were mislabeled and that they're CDs.

All four titles are listed on BCI's site as being on CD only, the prices and release dates are the same for the supposed HD DVDs as they are on CD, and the UPC codes for the HD DVDs on DVD Pacific's website are a perfect match for the CDs on BCI's site.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it doesn't look like there are any $6.98 HD DVDs on the horizon.

digitalfreaknyc 07-13-06 08:16 PM

Btw...we still never got a confirmation/release date for the Blade Runner HD DVD either. That's september.

Supermallet 07-13-06 08:19 PM

They might hold off for the 2007 Blade Runner box set before releasing the HD-DVD, just a thought. That box set will include every version of Blade Runner in it.

Eric D. 07-14-06 08:12 PM

Isn't The Fast and the Furious 3 the same thing as Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift? Anyway it's an awesome list. So many great titles on there. Oh and Battlestar Galactica in HD.... I'm so there.

Adam Tyner 07-14-06 08:44 PM

Ha. It's part of BCI's Bob Hope Collection, if you want a serious answer.

Yup.

Supermallet 07-14-06 09:21 PM

I will be pre-ordering the following from that list as soon as a date is announced:

The Thing
Out of Sight
Spartacus
12 Monkeys
The Blues Brothers
The Hulk
The Mummy
Dune
An American Werewolf in London
Casino
The Deer Hunter
Batman Begins

I'm bored enough to break out the titles from the list that leaked out on Microsoft's site to this new one. The titles in quotes are exclusive to one of those two lists.

Paramount

The Microsoft List

Elizabethtown
Forest Gump
Ghost
Grease
M:I:3
School of Rock
Spongebob Squarepants
The Look and Sound... List

The Ultimate Star Trek Movie Collection

Universal

The Microsoft List

Conan the Barbarian
Dracula (1931)
Dante's Peak
Dawn of the Dead (Unrated)
Frankenstein (1931)
King Kong (Deluxe Edition)
Meet the Fockers
Miami Vice Season 1
Two for the Money
The Look and Sound...List

The 40 Year Old Virgin
Accepted
American Pie 5
Black Dahlia
The Break-Up
Idlewild
Scoop
Slither
You, Me and Dupree

Warner and Related

The Microsoft List

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Harry Potter
Ocean’s Twelve
The Polar Express
The Look and Sound...List

Band of Brothers
Friends
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The Matrix Trilogy (the MS list showed The Matrix but didn't mention the sequels)
The Shawshank Redemption
Twister
The Look and Sound... site didn't mention any of the Weinstein Co. titles from the Microsoft list, but it did list The Aviator. Dunno if they mean in the U.S. or if the Weinsteins had the rights that tucked away when they departed.

Supermallet 07-14-06 09:28 PM

Count me in for any classic Universal monster movies.

Wouldn't that still be with Warner because they released the DVD a year ago?

Adam Tyner 07-17-06 06:59 AM

:nods: Just wasn't aware of that when I posted.

Disney's first Blu-ray releases will come out in September:

"Dinosaur" and "Eight Below" are slated for September 19 release, along with Miramax Films' "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and "The Great Raid."

The second wave of titles, due October 17, includes "Glory Road, "Haunted Mansion" and "Gone in Sixty Seconds," as well as Touchstone's "Dark Water" and Dimension Films' "The Brothers Grimm."

Most Buena Vista Blu-ray titles will list for $34.99.

Paramount and 20th Century Fox are expected to announce their inaugural Blu-ray Disc lineups shortly.

Blitz6Speed 07-17-06 07:05 AM

J&SB SB and Gone in 60!! Definetly in for those.

Adam Tyner 07-17-06 07:26 AM

Slither: day-and-date on 10/24.

Adam Tyner 07-17-06 08:18 AM

More!

The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious on September 26th. Menus and more info at DVD Times.

Mr. Cinema 07-17-06 08:28 AM

I'll get both of those. Universal is starting to be aggressive with the announcements. If Slither is coming 10/24, then that must mean Fast and the Furious 3 debuts before that since it's supposed to be the first day & date title.

Damn, I dont know if I will buy these....I have them on sd-dvd and never watch them. I may just rent them or something.

As far as the Disney BD titles, none appeal to me thank god. I dont want to be tempted into buying a player.

Crappy lineup so far for BD.

Maybe even on 9/26 with the other two Fast... flicks, although that's a pretty packed week for Universal. (7 titles in one week?) The movie was released theatrically on 6/16, so a 9/26 date sounds pretty realistic.

Hey we were promised "hundreds" of titles by year end by the HD DVD promo group. Every week should be packed.

Mr. Cinema 07-17-06 10:02 AM

2F2F will have 5.1 True HD, but I don't think it mentions the sound for the original.

BravesMG 07-17-06 10:39 AM

Man, it sucks that J&SBSB is BD only at this point, but on the flipside, that's the only title on that list I'd even consider.

I'm not interested in a damn one of them. Of course, with these announcements I guess this means the BD train is about to roll right over us.

The Upconverted SD-DVD of Eight Below will keep me content until Disney releases the HD-DVD.

Not really a fan os J&SBSB.
