Now I'm imagining a big Paramount press release for "Leap Of Faith: A Steve Martin MASTERPIECE!"

Some people are saying it's Braveheart, which would be nice, but Paramount being exclusive to HD-DVD would be far nicer.

Shannon Nutt 07-07-06 04:32 AM

"The Faithful will be rewarded."

I suppose it's too much to hope that this is a reference to Indiana Jones' "leap of faith" at the end of Last Crusade?!

No, Paramount wouldn't be that good to us this early. :(

I think it's more likely that Spielberg and Lucas would be the ones holding out.

Mr. Cinema 07-07-06 06:15 AM

The same 3 titles mentioned are the U2 one, Tomb Raider, and Four Brothers. I hope we see some from DreamWorks library, since Paramount now owns that studio.

If they're releasing soon then at least that probably means MI3 would be a day&date title. Braveheart was always rumored for October. I think Sleepy Hollow has been long rumored too.

Here's some other I think they could release this year: Forrest Gump, The Longest Yard '05, Tommy Boy, The Truman Show, Deep Impact, Hustle & Flow, and maybe Event Horizon

That quote could just mean that they are releasing titles soon for those who have been patient, etc.

I think its probably the Star Trek movies

Nah. That's the literal meaning. Amir said there's a hint in there. He's smarter than that.

I'm not saying I'm right. I kinda doubt it...but it is possible.

flashburn 07-07-06 11:01 AM

Sounds like he probably just meant that Paramount will be releasing titles soon..

ooooooo....my favorite. ;)

Im not a huge ST fan, but these would be awesome on HD-DVD. I can hear the humming of the enterprise in TruHD 5.1 now.

Mr. Cinema 07-07-06 07:04 PM

Noticed there is an DD MLP track for Poseidon, is that just another name for DD TrueHD?

Yes.

Maxflier 07-07-06 09:25 PM

It sucks that it won't be day & date, but then again at least it won't be a combo disc.

digitalfreaknyc 07-07-06 10:58 PM

Bitches BETTER NOT delay V for Vendetta.

digitalfreaknyc 07-07-06 11:11 PM

from AVS:

Paramount will have an announcement soon...that is all I can say. I have this from a very good souce.

Yes it does....WB is screwing the pooch on this one....I skipped it at the theater because I figured Id watch the HD-DVD.

Sucks.

Eric D. 07-09-06 05:49 PM

I don't mind too much if the releases are not day and date. All I care about is that they come out and that they look and sound awesome. How far off is the Poseidon HD DVD from the SD DVD anyway? I remember Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang was only a week off from the SD DVD, so that wasn't too bad.

Mr. Cinema 07-09-06 06:48 PM

The HD DVD of Poseidon is coming out 3 1/2 months after the DVD release.

Eric D. 07-09-06 07:05 PM

Wow. That does suck.

Lets just hope this isnt true or is a misprint.

Ill be afraid of this for all new releases from then on if it actually happens.

well, Netflix just let me add Poseidon HD DVD to my queue with an 8/22 release date.

Oliver Clothesoff 07-10-06 12:32 PM

Paramount into the fold with 10 titles, starting July 25 with Sahara, Tomb Raider, Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow.

wewantflair 07-10-06 12:35 PM

Wow, that is one weak ass offering from Paramount. But something's better than nothing, I suppose.
