My local Best Buy had Troy, Space Cowboys, and a couple of other titles marked as $18.99.

As expected, Superman: The Movie and Superman II are now available at DVD Empire using Google Checkout. Cost for the pair was $33.13 shipped, or $16.565 each.

Smallville: Season 5 is priced at $55.99, which works out to $48.04 shipped, but I haven't checked other places to see if that is a good deal.

He's paying standard shipping.

I finished up my November purchases today from DVD Empire. Kingdom of Heaven and Black Hawk Down for $40.81 shipped.

Nope, I'm paying standard shipping as well. I think the difference is I'm ringing up extra money for PA sales tax. Kills the deal for me.

No sales tax for me here, but DVD Empire is located in PA I believe. You'll need to find another store to get a decent deal.

IIRC, shipping at DVD Empire is $2.55 for two HD DVDs. And just $2.04 for the Smallville set. Throw in $10 off from Google and it makes for a pretty good deal.

I went to my local Sams Club today and was surprised to see a nice big selection of HD-DVD's all priced at 19.76 each. The titles they had were:

Caddyshack
The Searchers
The Dirty Dozen
Goodfellas
Constantine
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 2
Terminator 3
Grand Prix
Enter The Dragon
Sleepy Hollow
The Last Samurai
The Fugitive
Tomb Raider
Robin Hood

There were a few more but those are the ones off the top of my head that I saw. I actually own all of the titles they had but its still great to see more and more stores beginning to carry these. Between Sams Club and Target its looking like 20 bucks a pop for the time being which is still much beter than Best Buy and Circuit City. They didnt have any Combo titles so I dont know what the price will be for those when or if they start carrying them. Hopefully its around 25 bucks.

PS...

My local Best Buy had Space Cowboys and Lethal Weapon 2 marked at $18.99 as well. I picked up LW2 and it rang up at $24.99 at the register. Took almost 10 minutes to get the price adjusted to the marked price

Wow - it should only take a second to hit one of the Function keys, click the down arrow 2-3 times, hit Enter and then type in the new amount.

I've not gotten my notification, either. But, also, according to BestPrices' site, the boxset is still a pre-order, despite the fact it's now available.

I probably won't use them again, mainly because of the absurd shipping prices and the uneven way they treat customers - i.e. some getting boxset early, etc...

Mine is still "In Progress" so it hasn't shipped. I'm wondering if they forgot about some of us.

I wonder if they're using a last in first out order system?

I'm trying to get 1 last order in with dvdempire.com but am not having any luck using google checkout. I am trying to get Bikini Destinations and V for Vendeta which total 39.xx before shipping and I'm being told that my order does not qualify for the Google checkout. I was thinking its a preorder issue but it let me preorder Accepted which isn't out until Nov. 14th.

I just shot them an email, asking if it was going to be shipping today, as they informed me last week. With any luck, I'll get a response before the end of the week...

I tried a few different possible orders with different titles for soon to be released titles(on or before Nov. 21) and the google checkout works until I add Bikini Destinations. I guess I'll have to place seperate order for that title.

I tried ordering Bikini Destinations from DVDempire for the past week. It won't let you go through google checkout with that title.
