It'll be interesting if The Fugitive can be the first BD to actually look better than HD, considering the poor reviews it got. I haven't seen it though, still just a spectator...

Grand Prix in HD is a must-buy. The recent DVD release looks fantastic, and the racing scenes are incredible. The whole time I was watching it, I was thinking "this would be the perfect HD-DVD demo disc."

Unless I'm missing something, wouldn't this be the first Warner title to hit BD before HD?

EDIT: Never mind. Just actually read the link, which confirms this.

I'm excited beyond words about the Adventures of Robin Hood release. While it will make for an odd double-feature with T3, I'll probably do just that on the 28th.

I am guessing they mean the 26th, since the 28th is a Thursday.

Didn't WB already cross that line with Good Night and Good Luck?

Yep your right. GNGL was the first, but now its out on HD-DVD.

Unless its released before then on hd-dvd, Corpse Bride will be the only title for WB thats on BD and not HD-DVD.

Ah, thanks. I have limited interest in that (although it's in my Netflix queue), so I guess I didn't notice.

I saw a trailer for this movie (Lower City) and it looked amazing. Is this really confirmed HD-DVD title? I haven't seen it mentioned on any of the lists I've read.

Adventures of Robin Hood? HELL YES! Not only is this an amazing film that will look incredible in HD, but it will also have the first Looney Tunes cartoon in HD!

...and a triple dip for me.

I still own the Criterion LD because of the commentary track and own the 2-disc Warner SE. I agree that this will look great.

I had the pleasure of seeing an original Technicolor print of that film. What a complete joy that movie is.

I think I'll wait on the reviews on The Dirty Dozen before I bite on it.

Boo!!

Looks like no Dolby TruHD for the following Universal titles...

The Fast and the Furious (Sept 26)
2 Fast 2 Furious (Sept 26)
12 Monkeys (Oct 24)
Out of Sight (Oct 24)
The Thing (Oct 24)

I'm not too worried about these titles, because 12 Monkeys has always been a more dialog-driven movie...to me, anyway; I don't need TruHD for that. The Thing, while not dialog driven, is an older movie, so I can't imagine the sound being mixed well enough for the TruHD to benefit it.

When I think of 12 Monkeys, I always think of the music first. It definitely isn't as dynamic as most movies in terms of sound design. But TrueHD would have been a nice plus on this...

What the fuck?! First they're overpriced combos and now they chuck specs? This is starting to look like a Blu-ray operation.

Enh. Speak for yourself. I think he's a very good actor but I don't find him attractive in the least. Too skinny. And too old for me.

Plus, I recently re-watched this and Momento and I have zero interest in seeing either one again. Ever have those moments where you don't like a movie that everyone else seems to like and you can't remember why? yeah. Both of these.

What the fuck!? No TrueHD? I guess we will have to wait for the double dip. I think some of those have went from must buy to rent.

Batman (1989) was one of the worst transfers I had ever seen in my life on DVD. Hopefully they have a great master.
