^ that's exactly what I've been getting. It's the worst because the only option is to click the ad (fuck that shit) or close the entire browser, reopen it, and try to close the tab before the ad loads again. You can't just close the tab when the ad pops up because it greys everything out.

At least I have about ten million dollars in Amazon gift cards now. Fuck.

I'm using Firefox on a desktop PC, and I'm not getting any of these prizes or gift cards.

What are you people doing, and how I can get these valuable awards?

Ok, but I've never once gotten a browser hijack from the desktop version of the site. I rarely browse the site on mobile devices, but I've seen them when I have.

Whatever has been going on, they seemed to have done something to fix it, at least for now. It’s now working fine on my Safari browser on my iPhone. That, or I maxed out my Amazon gift card winnings.

It's almost comical now how shitty this is.

The past few days lots of us had time to hit DVD Talk and post, but I basically stayed away from the site for at least 2 days due to the nasty browser hijack rerouting you to a spam/phishing site so I suspect that their page view or whatever metrics for Sunday - Wednesday are not good.

This site and a political blog called Outside The Beltway that I really like have had this issue way to often in the past 12 months, and any site in the year 2018 that hijacks and routes you to a phishing site deserves to be forced to go out back, cut down a switch take the whipping they will receive like a kid in the Deep South.

They're so bad tonight I'm getting one after being on the site for ten seconds every time. This is the now fifth time I've tried to enter this post before I'm interrupted by it again.

My desktop browser (Firefox) got hijacked earlier today for the first time ever using this site. Thinking back, it's probably the first time my browser has been hit by anything like this in nearly a decade, from any site.

I don't care how big these are.

Why is this your ad partner? Why work with hijacking fake bait? What are you hoping to get out of this?

May I tell you what you're getting out of this? A user base that is shrinking in numbers and growing in frustration and, my guess, not much revenue because your users are too smart to click fake bait that hijacks their browser over and over again.

Is this what you hope to get out of your ad partnership? If so, we'd like to speak with you about that. If not, please find a new ad partner.

This site is absolute fucking garbage on mobile. Last night I kept getting both screens that VinVega posted. At least a dozen times in a row after closing and re-opening the site and going into a thread. After that, I said fuck it and and just hopped on some other forums.

Just now when I typed in forum.dvdtalk.com, Google Chrime on my mobile lists the site as Reward Center. I bet it is because of the last redirect...

Same. And it doesn't appear like using the full site on mobile is any better than using the mobile layout. Ads happen all the time in either.

Oddly my issues seemed to mostly stop after I complained this weekend. I think I’ve had the redirects happen a couple times but it’s not taking over whenever I try to do anything like before. Still though I wish the people in charge would just do whatever it takes to get rid of the shit for good.

Why would they? It's probably one of the only (the only?) revenue streams from this site.
