New Forum issues
Maybe a central location to report issues would be helpful...
The go to last post button doesn't go to the last post. :( |
I've heard that the last post feature takes you to the 1st post instead.
|
Posted this in the Other thread before I knew about this one:
Searching seems to suck even more now. Today I'm going to compile a list of upcoming DVDs that I want (Iron Man, The Big Lebowski, The Incredible Hulk, "30 Rock", "The Office") and their release dates, so I searched for their respecitve existing threads. 5 different searches in the main forum - "iron", "lebowski", "hulk", "office", "rock" - each at least the standard 20 seconds apart. Got the same reslut every time: "1. Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." Weird. |
Just like "Last Post", "Last Page" also takes you to the first page.

When in a particular forum, the links on the menu bars do not work. Both the main bar at the top and the one below with the search this forum. Click.. nothing.
|
I was just in the actors attack their mother thread and found this post interesting.
It shows Vibiana as simply a registered user....hadn't seen that before? |
Uh oh. I just saw contextual advertising in a thread....
....on another site. None seen here yet! :) |
Avatars seem to have disappeared.

I didn't notice it until Groucho posted, but posts from people on my ignore list are in a wider box than a normal post.
|
Wow... the forum VB was upgraded to the current version... whodathunk? ;)
|
Is anybody else getting adds in first posts of a thread?
|
The political forum content still sucks.
|
I can't click on any of the buttons that can wrap text around it for Bold, Italic, Underline, etc. I can't even get the smilies to come up. I have to do everything manually. I know most of them, but I can't remember a lot of the smilie codes.
|
What did the new forum upgrade do anyway?

I'm getting a bunch of smilies in The Edit King posts
|
Guys, there maybe some things that are showing up that aren't suppose to be there. Give IB time to configure stuff the way it was.
|
Kudos though for the upgrade. I'm telling you I stopped upgrading because almost everything we saw pointed to it being almost impossible. So the IB tech team must have really done some magic.
Now hopefully they will turn on all the features! |

Yep, the search function is completely useless now. Every search I've done has come up with the same result you got.
the initial rebuild of an index for a site this large could easily be multiple days.. just a guess.. |
is it just my eyes.. or do the colors not seem as crisp.. a little washed out?
could just be me.. since i assume they used the same template |
The color selection in making a post doesn't work on Firefox 3.0.1 on Mac OSX Leopard.

So could please tell try again and if you still get the error could please tell me which page were you searching from. The only problem with the search at present is that the pop up box does not pop up on a few pages and we are looking into it. |
What is with the line between the poster name and the post, like in this thread:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=531622 It's not in every thread though, like this one I'm posting in now. |

I just searched for the same titles, and the only results I got were from '02 and earlier. This wont be a problem if I went back in time and haven't realized it yet. I'll look into that and update later. |

Otter Farm has an error at the top of the page. Looks like some stray HTML.

The only problem with the search at present is that the pop up box does not pop up on a few pages and we are looking into it. "iron" - one thread (a locked upcoming release list from 2006) "lebowski" - no matches "hulk" - no matches "office" - no matches "rock" - two threads (the current Evil Dead thread and one compiling a list of defective DVDs) It probably goes without saying, but I did not use quotation marks in my searches. My browser is IE 6 and my OS is XP. (Yeah, I prefer Firefox, but I'm at work and they don't like us downloading programs on these computers.) |
I found a new feature under "networking" but now it's been turned off. :(

I tried starting a discussion via a review (Dexter) and got an error:
The following error was encountered: *Don't know if the database statement is needed, but I thought I should remove it* 1017: Can't find file: '*removed*' (errno: 13) I also got a similar error when clicking a review link at the top of the page, but now I can't remember which movie it was because others I've seen have worked so far. |
