So on the forum front page? Confirm you did not see an ad on top.

sory Geoffrey I didn't read through the thread

yes, I clicked on my bookmarked dvdtalk.com main page link
if I'm not mistaken the screen goes all white except for a pop up box in the middle warning that my system may be running slow

I closed the box but it still I think trys to take you to its page
I backed out and returned to dvdtalk and to this forum to post
so it just happened a minute before my post above

I got it just a few minutes ago. First time posting about this but this has been happening to me about once a day for the last few days. I'm using Maxthon browser and this last time the forum tab closed itself and the performance thing came up.

it does not correspond to any one page at all...

that's not the nature of this thing...

it redirects away form dvdtalk with no back button...

hence it's a hijack...

I've only gotten it once a couple of days ago, and it's when first opened the forum front page at forum.dvdtalk.com.

When I use DVDTalk, I keep the forum.dvdtalk.com page open and then open the subforums and topics in seperate tabs, so I only go to the main page once per session.

Does the ad only come up when someone goes to the main forum page?

Oh, and it's going to be really difficult for anyone to catch which rotating ad it is that does this because it immediately resizes the browser down to a little square (probably about 150x150) and spits out the dialogue box. It happens before you can see anything.

I've had this happen several times. It just now happened on the TV Talk forum. I am on IE 7, and it pops up a window saying that privacy and spyware programs are not installed on my computer. Then, when I click the pop up off, it takes me to some site that wants to install some malware program. This has become very annoying. I know that it's being worked on, but, I hope it is resolved soon.

Just got hit with it.

Tried to take me to:

http://scanner.malware-scan.com/4_sw...958_0_3568_ao_

With two tabs open (one on the main forum page, and one to a topic in the politics forum), there were no visible ads on the main forum page.

On the topic page, I had the Jimi Hendrix Montery ad on the top and believersmovie on the sponsored link under the top post after I cut my connection and resized my browser. (Don't know if either was responsible, though.)

I just got the redirection again(http://blessedads.com/?cmpid=laughfur) when I first arrived at the main Forums index page(from my bookmark). The banner ad that was playing was the one for "Tubes- the new revolution in America" though the redirection started before that line came out. The redirection happened when the ad was trying to produce the first line of advertising something about "Share anything you want with anybody". The bottom of my browser screen(where the status of links loading is displayed) flashed a quick link with the word "newbie" in it but then quickly went to the redirected page.

Warning to all the above site if you accidently hit any of the screen button outside of close it will try to install a trojan virus on to your PC. I mistakely hit the cancel button and bam! my avg caught the crap.

God dammit. It didn't happen for a while. Now some fucking horizontal ad for t-max or tube something was up and bam!!! The re-direct to PC performance optimizer. Happened real quick.

I may have to quit coming here. Definitley will not be here during work anymore.

I think that one guy has it right. It's your ad-server.

Got hit twice for the PC Optimizer hi jack tonight on 2 different computers using IE. Once was after clicking a link for an email notification to the Barnes and Noble coupon thread in the bargains forum. Another was after going to the forum home page. Glad I checked feedback to see I wasn't the only one with the problem at least.

Darn right. Three days now, and nothing can be done? Are we supposed to just stop coming here? I bookmark the bargains forum and check throughout the day, but now I don't even want to anymore, since I stumbled upon this for the first time today. Good way to kill a once-popular site's traffic.

So as not to be accused of not helping, I never saw an ad because, as others have stated, I was hijacked before the page even loaded for the dvdtalk bargains forum I had bookmarked.

It's a malicious attack. We're trying to figure out where it's coming from. I've been here on the forum all day. I'd rather be out enjoying my weekend but I'm not, I'm searching through every line of code, shutting on and off banners and yelling at people on the phone to try to get this figured out.

What more can I do? We're a victim here, so give us your support please.

if i may make a suggestion... if you have multiple feeds, kill them all...

then start and run one a day... look for feedback for each 1 feed on a 24 period...

thats they way we found them before...

the unfortunate thing, as i mentioned, is the ad people usually have people, maybe even in a call center, who read rote responses from cards... like 'this is against our policy'... 'we will never do this'... etc.

it complicates it...

shut off all feeds... the hijack/redirects will stop...

check one at a time... you'll find out where it's coming from...

i would kill all feeds completely to stop it now immediately...

then work from there...
