Revenge of the Ghoul Log has me intrigued. That’s gotta be awesome!

I wonder which Vincent Price movies are included in that collection. I
was planning to catch up on some VP movies anyway.

Even though it can still go either way, one thing is for certain -- if we do start early, and that's still a big if ...it'll be 2 weeks. There's been enough votes to know that part is definitive. The exact date would be Tuesday 9/15. But again, nothing is confirmed. I just wanna make sure everyone has enough time to have their say as well as adequate time to prepare.

Plus...
What sucks this year is the NBA usually ruins the end of the challenge for me. Now the NBA is going to ruin the beginning of the challenge since Finals look like they will end early/middle of October. Either way, I am open to it starting early just because there are sooooooooo many streaming options, working from home I'm sure for most people, and the big thing, it would be nice to just talk with others as this whole Covid thing has really killed being social. I know my local indy theater has been doing drive ins and will be doing Toxic Avenger and Reanimater in September and have hyped a good October. I do feel for those that have kids doing distance learning, though. I know, for me, I might be on hardcore babysitting duty after October 13th or so (basically, I will be watching at least one child 24/7 for about a month) and I know that can ruin a lot of movie time for any parents on here.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 16: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

Quick update...

Added a new link to Deadly Exposure, which adds 550+ titles over the previous link.

Added Lightning Video, 2 to the Video Companies link.

We're down to 4 subset volunteers needed.

About half of the current volunteers have given picks thus far so please don't hesitate if you haven't yet done so.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 16: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

It's good to be back! I haven't had much to look forward to this year, so I'm excited to get back into the planning of the challenge. I just caught up on the thread and as far as starting early goes, I'm not a fan of it, but I won't vote against it if that's what other people want to do. I just think that if it does end up happening, it shouldn't count towards anyone's totals.

I'm in for a subset pick and here are my choices...

The Invitation - They Shoot Zombies, Don't They?, Quiet/Soft
Triangle - They Shoot Zombies, Don't They?, European Passport to Terror
Under The Skin - They Shoot Zombies, Don't They?, European Passport to Terror, Quiet/Soft, The Drive-In Oath (Breasts)
Mandy - European Passport to Terror, Subjective Camera, Guillermo Del Toro, Electric Brain Stew (Sadistic)

Theme Nights 2020
Apologies if someone else has already suggested any of these. I haven't looked at anything but the previous subset picks and this chart to make choices. But, I've got one for each category (minus one), so one of these should work:

Glad I'm an annual subscriber so I can push off the increase but I think it's well worth it anyway. Long live Shudder!

If you subscribe through Shudder and use the promo code SHUDDERGIFT you get 20% Off an Annual Membership. That makes it around $45.

Or use the promo code SERIALKILLERS and get a 30 Day Free Trial.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 16: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

So. many. picks. You might even say there's a shit-ton of suggestions on post 9. I'm appreciative of those giving multiple picks, but the indecisive side of me is really feeling the pressure to get it right. That's actually not a bad problem to have.

Only 3 more subset volunteers needed.

Also a reminder over the next few days the main thread, the results of whether or not we start 2 weeks early (still time to vote), and whatever else I'm forgetting are on the way, so hang tight.

Another possible theme date, if it’s not taken already: 10/21 - National Apple Day for The Big Apple of Death - NYC Based Horror Films

And for the R.I.P. list: Naya Rivera (2). (Also Claudine Auger is listed twice.)

Only 3 more subset volunteers needed.

I only gave two suggestions last year and I thought that must have been a dick move, because that gave you less wiggle room to work with. So I decided to give more options this year, but yeah, I guess too many can be annoying as well.
