Robin Hood (BBC) S3 - finished up series -- a lot of fun

Chappelle's Show Season 2 Disc 2: Makes me wish Dave hadn't went crazy and ended the show. I've never seen the "Lost Episodes", but I hear they aren't all that great.

Succubus-Hell Bent: I fast-forwarded through most of this. About as low budget as you can get. Some T&A would have helped it a little.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Jacques Tati's M. Hulot's Holiday (1953): my first taste of Tati and I like it even though the movie moves way too slow. A few of the gags (like the 'shark' kayak) are LOL funny, most of them just chuckle-inducing. Now I know where Sellers got his inspiration when he came up with his Clouseau character.
Tati's Mon Oncle (1958): just about perfect. The gags and set design (particularly the fish fountain) create a cozy little world in which adults play second-fiddle to kids, dogs and machinery run amok. I'm liking Tati a lot.
Jean-Luc Godard's Pierrot le fou (1965): crazy-cool lovers-on-the-lam road movie in which Godard turns his weakness (love for old Hollywood techniques he claims to despise, a failed marriage to Anna Karina) into a strength (a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants, quasi-stream-of-consciousness directing style) that feels like a timeless time capsule of cool. The Blu-ray transfer just shines and makes this look like a Technicolor masterpiece.
MST3K: The Beatniks (1992/1960): doesn't fly as high as "I Accuse My Parents" and the better shorts but, like "Daddy-O," this 'angry youth' flick with older non-actors pretending to be rebels has its moments (none of them featuring actual beatniks). Stronger-than-riffing host segments too.
MST3K: Blood Waters of Dr. Z (1999/1975): the TV edit used by Best Brains robs this already-bad movie of some of its charm (particularly the scenes where the redneck sheriff stumbles upon a youth rave) but, even when it connects, this is a rare "MST3K" experiment where the dullness of the flick overwhelms even the strongest riffs (Tom Servo's 'masturbation ritual' riff notwithstanding).
