Only got 2 in today, well I'll get one in after WWE and football but that'll count for tomorrow since most of it will be watched after midnight, but a nice refresher to get some other things done.

I knew I'd seen that comparison somewhere before, thanks for reposting. It's just a shame you'd never know that terrible packaging holds an actual good movie for a change.

Congratulations, MrTerrific! That banner trivia contest is always a lot of fun and what a haul the prize is.

Congrats to MrTerrific! That's a heck of a prize. Thanks again, Hamilton Books.

Thanks for posting that list, Chad. It's funny how many of them are obvious after the fact.

Congrats yet again to MrTerrific, and a BIG thank you to Hamilton Books!

I could not remember that three-fingered claw/hand! I knew I had seen it before, but searching images of Ghoulies, Critters, It ('s Alive), and even Basket Case I was coming up empty. I knew there had to be a 3-D element, just wasn't nailing it. I like the higher participation as well. Love them banners.

I just found today that a good friend of mine died in his sleep.

I know I only have 8 films left to complete my goal, but I'm a mess right now. We'll see if I finish.

That is intense. Take care of yourself, horror films might not be the best thing right now. It's fun to cram movies in during this month, but it also leaves me wanting to do something life affirming afterwards and the sudden death of your friend is as good a message as any to live life while you can. I'm sorry for your loss, go do something crazy to lighten that gravity if you can.

OH WOW, I knew that one day "Sorority Babe in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama" would help me win something!

Seriously, thanks!

Re-watching the Puppet Master and Subspecies films. I have been a little disappointed in Puppet Master because it feels like watching an hour and a half of a film for a few minutes of puppets.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (Oct 1-31) P

Finished Beetlejoice today... never seen it before, and while I knew the plot at one point, I'd managed to forget most of it prior to watching it, so it was totally novel. It's quite a clever idea, although I'm not sure it really pulls it off because all the introduced minor characters sort of blended together and became distracting. Enjoyable, though!

I had to wonder, however, quite who this film is aimed at..? Was it made at a point when the studio somehow managed to make a film just because, or was it just a little bit confusingly done, I wonder. It seemed slightly too childish to be a totally 'adult'-aimed film, but far too scary to really be considered a children's film. The (occasional, but strong) language, the fairly terrifying face-pulling, the Ghost Central populace, the Beetlejuice character and his mores... all of it really felt like it would bother youngish people a lot more than it probably ought to.

Anyone else feel similarly, or am I under-estimating an audience that I don't belong to anymore..?!

Sorry for your loss, asianxcore.

This week was a pretty slow week for viewings, and pretty weak selection of first time views. But, I did see Eyes Without a Face for the first time, and found it to be absolutely amazing! So far, the two best first time viewings came from 1960 (the other being Peeping Tom).

Took a break from the challenge, and didn't watch anything yesterday, but started early today with a kaiju film, Gamera 2: Advent of Legion.

My condolences as well. Sometimes this challenge seems to double as a support group. We've been through a lot over the years.

Children of the Corn: Genesis - it's not great, but also not as bad as I feared.

The Genuine 7 Foot Robby The Robot.

Description

This is the special edition, life-size, fully animatronic remote-controlled version of Robby, the robot from the classic 1956 film Forbidden Planet. Standing 7' tall, Robby is created from the same blueprints, molds, and templates used to create the original movie-prop costume. Robby arrives pre-programmed to move his computer relay assembly, rotate his servo-controlled head, spin his planetary gyro stabilizers, and twirl his scanners while his various lights flash exactly as seen in the film. A directional speaker housed in the head produce Robby's distinctive voice in CD-quality sound as he delivers his famous lines from the original movie at your command from the included remote control - his voice even synchronizes with the retro-style bright blue neon tube lights built into his front.
