I'll be getting it, but probably a bit later in the week.

I bought the blu at walmart today for $25. I've only watched the HOF so far, and I was shocked to see how good Sunny looked. I was under the impression that she had turned into a carwreck, but she looked fantastic. It was a very nice show, and the curtain call at the end was an awesome way to end it.

I got my WM 27 DVD in the mail today from Amazon and they do continue the HHH vs. Undertaker match on disc 2. I haven't checked to see where they break the match up yet, just read the match listings.

Yea, the tagged classics are region 2, but you can get a region free player and it will play.

I just bought a Panasonic S38 DVD player from Future Shop for $45 and there is a code you input on the remote that will play any region DVD. I tried a couple of region 2 DVDs i had lying around and they worked flawlessly.

I ordered couple of Tagged Classics from Amazon.co.uk; Judgment Day 2000 and Fully Loaded 2000 and No Way Out 2000 and Backlash 2000 and cannot wait til they come.

The great thing about the Tagged Classics that will probably never happen in US/Canada anytime soon is that the ppvs are unedited with no blurring and no edits of theme music. Wrestlemania 17 is practically identical to the original print from 2001 except the cover, disc art and menu...the content is unedited.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Anyone get WM27 from FYE? Any exclusives? I heard it comes with dog tags like last year but haven't yet seen anyone confirm this. Looks like Best Buy is the cheapest place to get it on Blu-ray at $19.99...

The video they show to hype the match is on disc 1, then disc 2 starts with Justin Roberts saying the following match is no holds barred. Technically it's split but the full match, with both intros, is on disc 2.

And yeah Taker's theme is his old one, not "Ain't No Grave."

When I saw the Taker/HHH match listed on both discs I thought maybe they pulled a Hogan/Andre from the Wrestlemania 4 VHS. I was a little kid then and I still knew they could've done a better job with that cut, lol.

All true. I've bought a few myself to play on my Oppo DVD player and they work just fine. The only thing I'd add, which may not be a huge deal for some, is that the video does look a little different due to the difference in frame rate between the PAL and NTSC standards. I personally find it a bit distracting, though it definitely doesn't render it unwatchable or anything like that. I'm sure it's one of those things where the more you watch it, the more used to it you get.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

It looks like the Cage Match DVD will feature the Thundercage Match between Ric Flair and Lex Luger from Capital Combat 1990, for the NWA Championship... Robocop!!!... Plus Flair bleeds in this match, it'll be interesting how that is dealt with (I hope it's not black and white).

I think this will be the first DVD in quite a while to feature a good ol' blade job.

Wanted to pass this on: I've started seeing the Trish Stratus - 100% Stratusfaction Guaranteed dvds showing up in the $5 bins at Walmart. ....Of course it's the standard version, not the FYE limited edition.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Its an odd collection of "sports entertainers" Luger for WCW? Road Warriors for AWA? Edge for WWE?

When I think of those four companies I don't think Edge, Road Warriors and Lugar. I would have went with Austin (WWE), Sting (WCW) and maybe Rockers (AWA) unless this is a clue about the matches included too?

BTW I agree with Flair and Kerry.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Disappointed with the list. I know the common complaint with any release like this is replication of matches from other sets but the two WCCW matches were on the WCCW DVD! While it is good to finally see the R&R Express/Koloffs match from Starrcade 85 on a set, I was really hoping that the Slaugher/Kernodle vs. Steamboat/Younglbood match would finally make it to an "official" DVD release.

And the Robocop match....seriously?

What, no Owen vs Bret Summer 1994 match?! I have to agree with Dubya, very disappointing list, I have most of the matches on that list! Oh well, I will still be getting it for the matches that I do not have

RIP Macho Man

I remember as a young kid waiting in line at a mall to meet him, didn't get up to him, but he came through the line and greeted everyone on his way out. i remember him being much shorter than I thought he would be.

On topic, I'll definitely pick up the cage match dvd, seems like a decent listing from my point of view.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

That cage match dvd is bad. First of all, some of those matches were released on the Bloodbath cage match dvd that came out back in 2003, and the other matches they have on it from the last few years aren't that great.

Also, RIP Randy "Macho Man" Savage, you were the man!!

RIP Randy Savage. It's really sad we never got to see Randy back in WWE for a Hall of Fame induction, and sadly we'll never get a Macho Man documentary with comments from the man himself. A very black day in the world of pro-wrestling.

I think I'll re-watch Macho Madness this weekend in honour of one of the all time greats (and my childhood favourite).

Randy not getting in the Hall of Fame is bullshit, he should have been in years ago along with Elizabeth
