Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
Thats why it was called "Official Wrestling DVD Discussion" .. its officially release, officially announced DVDs and not "My Dream Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread" or "My Wishful Wrestling DVD Discussion"..
Dude, the recent posts of "best of" wrestlings sets were not even DVDs nor it will be these are just "figments" of imagination sets.

No one complains on other threads when we talk about features we'd like to see, so this is no different.
There's no harm in wishful thinking, any more than there is harm in referencing Inception in a thread about wrestling.

Yes, this is the official thread where we discuss wrestling DVDs, including those we'd like to see.

I am the one that started the discussion about Wishful DVDs. You never know when WWE might have somebody reading this site and if they see what people are interested in they might release it. Also I agree that this is about Wrestling DVDs and not a crappy movie that fanboys are creaming there batman undies over

The problem with this "wishful thinking" is someone may not read the "wishful thinking" part and post the match listings as fact. Didn't we have that problem once (at least) recently?
I agree with xage. If someone wants to make an UNOFFICIAL wrestling dvd post (i.e. "wishful thinking"), they should create a new thread. If the WWE wants to hear their opinions on what they WISH would be released, they can click on that thread.

Personally I think all of you should just be men and quit getting pissy over ANYTHING that has to do with Wrestling DVD's. Seriously, it's embarrassing. I enjoy them as much as any of you, but there's way too much whiny bitching around here over meaningless disagreements. So just relax and discuss things. If you don't like a certain discussion that's going on, skip over it. It's pretty simple to do.
I like the "wish list" DVD idea and I have a bunch that I'll add later. But one that I'll never see, but would LOVE is a set of Kevin Sullivan's early career with his Charles Manson-esque gimmick. With the WWE having Florida, SMW, NWA and ECW footage, there could be a great set highlighting his Satanic carnage days when he was the most controversial heel in the biz. Vince would never sign off on it. But if I could sneak into the WWE film room and put that sucker together, it would RULE!!!!

I hope TNA goes all out with the Hardcore Justice DVD. I would love a 3-Disc with a documentary with all the EV 2.0 guys talking about this "final" show for them and there memories and hatred for WWECW and maybe a whole disc of bonus matches featuring orignal ECW stars in TNA

I think the first thing TNA is going to have to do is actually announce some matches. There's one iMPACT! before the ppv, which is in a little over a week, and they haven't announced a single match.
Remember December? It looks like TNA doesn't.

The PPV could suck ass like December to Dismember and I wouldn't care. I just want them to release a DVD that has all those old ECW guys going nuts on Vince for how he screwed up ECW V2.
I wanna hear there thoughts on getting to go out the way they want to

I also like those two matches so far. Can they deliver in 2010? That's another question.

I love the cover. It has two of the greatest wrestlers in history on it. I can't wait for this DVD.
This is indeed AWESOME!
I can't wait until they get to the Attitude Era.
I'll definitely be picking up these DVDs.
Raw Seasons 1 & 2 DVD is packaged like below. I think this will be a cool way of doing it if WWE continues releasing Best of Season DVDs for all other years in this "volume" style.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
It was my understanding that "Official" meant: licensed, official, legitimate releases. Not, simply 'the thread to go to for wrestling dvds'. The point of keeping it on topic to officially released items is that people dont have to sift through posts of opinions, arguments and b.s. to find an actual FACT regarding a dvd that is available. Not to mention the problem some posts people ask for someone's opinion or thoughts and then completely tear them apart because their thoughts and opinions are not the same as their own.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
hardcore justice dvd could be great, but they should anounce another match or two, fans need to know atleast 3 or 4 matches to drop money on a ppv, and leave the rest for surprise
but im confident this ppv will be great, the guys are older yes, but dreamer and company are in control and know what there doing, the matches announced so far look great, i just wish this was at hammerstein ballroom
as a original 90's ecw fan i think this show had real potential to deliver and hope it does, give a nice sendoff to the real ecw, not the sci fi crap vince was selling

I haven't gotten a wrestling dvd in almost two years.( The last one I bought was the hell in a cell dvd) Anyways I might get the best of raw dvds. They look really cool.

People on forums always take stuff way too seriously. Who cares if we wanted to name off what we'd liked to see on a dvd?? Everyone is so anal anymore about everything, it's just fucking pathetic!

So as long as this is left as a one-off show that lets Dreamer, Raven, Sandman, Sabu, etc. close ECW's lid on their own terms, I think it'll be a damn fine three hours of time spent with a bunch of friends and a fridge full of beer.
As for the DVD, I think TNA could really take advantage of this show if they make it a 2 or 3 disk set and throw in a bunch of bonus matches from the archives with Raven, Sabu, Sandman, Rhino, The Dudleys, Jerry Lynn and any one else who has ECW on their resume. Maybe tack on some mini-shoots with all the guys as well. If they put some time and thought in to it, they could have a winner on their hands.
On the down side, I think I may want to strangle the Impact Zone fans if they chant "EV 2.0" every five seconds. It just sounds so forced and corny. Fuck Vince, just chant "ECDUB" and be done with it.

It seems like this show is taking quite a bit of heat around the net, but I'm really looking forward to it. Obviously, I don't expect 5 Star matches or off the charts workrate. I just think it's going to be a fun night of wrestling that hopefully strikes an emotional cord. ECW was the promotion that got me back in to Pro Wrestling when I began to lose interest in the mid-90s. And it was BY FAR my favorite era as a fan.

A lot of people bitch about the direction ECW took after wards, but it couldn't just be a non-stop reunion show. We wouldn't want to see just Sandman, Dreamer, Sabu, and RVD, any more than we would want to see just Undertaker, Bret Hart, and The Rock. It can't be all nostalgia.
I personally liked WWEECW: it kept the principle older guys for a while (Dreamer, Sabu, RVD, Sandman, Balls Mahoney), but also pushed newer stars, like Punk, Morrison, Swagger, Bourne, Burke, Miz, Sheamus, but also gave a good platform for established veterans who could seriously "go," like Regal, Finlay, Goldust, Christian, Hardy, Big Show. Sure, it had some duds, but hey, ECW used to have Sid Vicious, so who are we to judge.
That said, the ppv is going to have a lot of big names, which is a good start. Aside from those behind the scenes guys, just about everyone you would want to see there will be there. RVD/Lynn is a perfect main event considering that the main event of the last ECW PPV was between those two, Raven/Dreamer is a classic feud that would be interesting to see again, and you know there are going to be more solid bouts, considering Sandman, Sabu, Rhino, Richards, Team 3D, etc.
As for the DVD, they would be very smart to make it a two-disc set. WWE screwed up by rushing the release of ONS 05. A 2-disc set would get the attn of the same people who bought the Hardcore Homecoming sets, and would be a great opportunity to show TNA's association with ECW, considering their very large library of matches involving Sabu, Rhino, Sandman, RVD, Team 3D, Foley, etc.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
I really think that if they do a two disc release of the Hardcore Justice PPV the second disc will include the episode of Impact which will follow the show, as it will have the original 'Hard Justice' PPV lineup on it. However I think it will just be 1 disc. Has it been confirmed it will have multiple discs?
