There is no mention of it being 2 disc or 1 disc on the outer package...

None of the early TNA DVDs said 2 discs and in the beginning all their DVDs (including PPVs were 2 disc) and they started with 1 disc with Hard Justice 2005.

No telling which version you have til you actually open it.

When i ordered from ShopTNA back in June i thought it would just be a 1 disc re-release like their previous re-release DVDs from 2003-2004 but when i opened it was surprised that it was the original 2 disc version from 2004.

Great, thank you! How much does the 2 disc set sell for, opened and factory sealed in your experience??

An interesting note, Amazon.com is listing the Hardcore Justice DVD as 2 Disc, so it's a good chance the 2nd disc could be the Whole F'N Show.

A few months back you couldve gotten around $100 for it sealed, but since it's re-release, no one is stupid enough to pay more than $14.95 (or however much TNA is selling it for) considering their "re-release" was 2 discs also. There's really no difference between the two, I've yet to find someone who has a 1 disc "Best of AMW".

Picked up ECW Best of Cactus Jack for $6 at The Exchange today. Passed on the ECW Best of the Dudleyz for $30 with the WWE cover (since I already have the standard version.) Anyone looking for this?

FYE to discontinue carrying WWE DVD's? Read this article: http://www.wwedvdnews.com/exclusive-...wwe-dvds/4402/

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

That would seriously suck.

First of all, those exclusive sets were awesome. I got those exclusive tins of SummerSlam '07, Survivor Series '07, Royal Rumble '08, WrestleMania XXIV, SummerSlam '08, Survivor Series '08, and the steelbook of WrestleMania XXV all at FYE.

Not to mention, when Best Buy didn't carry Hell in a Cell '09 and Bragging Rights, I got them at FYE.

And they're a great place to go for older titles.

I really hope that's not true.

But as someone commented on that other page, this is one of the effects of the product just flat out sucking.

Personally speaking, as someone who bought every ppv on dvd last year, save for four, I have only bought TWO this year. WrestleMania XXVI (because it's WrestleMania!), and Extreme Rules (because it had all the WM rematches). I haven't bought Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Over the Limit, Fatal Four-Way, Money in the Bank, and I sure as hell won't be buying SummerSlam.

According to Amazon.ca Bragging Rights will be on Blu-ray available in Canada which of course will turn out to be a Best Buy exclusive in the US.

Have a feeling in 2011 every WWE PPV and superstar/compilation will also be available on Blu-ray.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I'm sorry, but that article sounds like bullshit. Believe it or not, wrestling DVDs, mainly WWE ones, are one of the last remaining big sellers in the DVD market. K-mart specially, has an agreement with WWE to sell merchandise, including DVDs, for the next year. WWE merchandise is one of the most promoted brands on the K-mart weekly ads.

The situation really is that TrasnWorld may not exist past 2011. The company is in the border of bankruptcy due to the decline of the DVD/CD market and the fact that they price their inventory to high for consumers. Why am I going to pay $25 for a DVD that I can find at Best Buy for $5 less or at Amazon even cheaper?

I've noticed that in general all retailers are now stocking fewer WWE dvds than before, but that doesn't mean that they are not going to stock it anymore, it's just that they have adjusted to the lower demand.

This is one problem I see with WWE and their media department. Why the fuck are they still releasing PPVs on DVD and not Blu-ray? Blu-ray is not a niche market anymore. Is like if WWE released PPVs on VHS in 2004 but not on DVD. Is fucking retarded and they need to adjust their strategy to the newer technology.

I hope so. i only but the comp disc and even if the footage is in SD I would love the documentaries and HD matches in HD. I think that like they did with Best of PPV that WWE should put extra stuff on the BR that doesn't go on the DVD. I would even be happy with a whole 3rd BR with Hours and Hours of bonus SD matched

Could it simply be that not everyone has Blu-Ray players just yet and the fact that they aren't cheap, the machines and the discs themselves, that is.

Most people are still trying to transition form VHS to DVD. Blu-Ray still needs to develop a little more, say in about 3 years time BEFORE it goes to all Blu-Ray down the road. Just my opinion.

I'm not saying it should be all blu-ray, just release both formats at the same time. I for one am holding in not buying any of these PPV releases because they are not on Blu-ray. I imagine there are a lot of people like me. If they can move a million copies of their shitty Smackdown vs Raw videogames on PS3 they can easily start selling more PPVs on BD.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

The problem with FYE is their prices. For an example, the FYE that used to be at Rockerfeller Center. There is a Best Buy seven blocks away where the prices are cheaper.

dx23, Blu-Ray is still a niche market just like DVD was in the year 2000. People aren't going to have an incentive to buy a BRD when there isn't many options as compared to DVD. The same applies to when DVD's and VHS' were still sold in store. Hell, there is many movies that aren't even out on DVD. That's why people still collect VHS tapes. Soon the same will apply to DVD's There are tons of movies that aren't even out on BRD but are available on DVD. The WWE will eventually release more and more BRD's when the demand is high enough that will warrant people to buy them. The cycle is repeating itself when the World Wrestling Federation didn't start releasing every PPV on DVD starting with WrestleMania X-Seven.

Nicely put!!!! I just bought a HD tv and a blu-ray disc player last week. I agree that it's still going to take time for people (especially with lower income) to be able to make the switch over to BRD. Another year or 2 imo.

Well said.

I don't think we'll see a lot of WWE/WCW/ECW PPV's re-released on DVD or Blu-ray at all quite frankly. You have a better chance with seeing a movie you thought would never be released on DVD or BD then a wrestling PPV. I don't see any of the WWE In Your House PPV's coming out on DVD.

I don't expect WWE to re-release everything on Blu-ray I'd just like all the current PPV's to be available on both formats and if they have a Jericho or Michaels set coming out I'd like to see it on BD.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I know, speaking from my own personal experience, refused to buy dvds back in 2001 and 2002. I didn't really start buying wrestling dvds until I saw that there was no vhs version of it around. Then I realized it was time to make the upgrade. But the beauty of that was, I still got like 80% of the dvds I missed because in Canada like twice a year they have sales at Walmart or CD Plus where you can buy wrestling dvds for $5 or so. So it didn't take me too long to just grab the most that I could for wrestling dvds.

But as for Blu Ray, I don't ever see a time when I will start buying them, because I honestly don't think dvds will ever stop. I think in the long run, people will still be buying dvds more so than Blu Ray. Just because Blu Ray is more expensive and you have to have the player, the TV and all that for those sort of discs. Where as dvds all you need is the dvd player and a normal TV and you are set.

I couldn't have stated it better myself Brian. There is a market for Blu-Ray BUT there are still more DVD titles available than the BD version and still a lot more stuff on VHS than on DVD, so it's all a matter of a catch-up phase right now. Allow DVD titles to be released and when a majority of films and shows and stuff gets released in that format, then BD will start to trickly in but it will take quite a bit of time and for the price to go down as well. WWE should do so for the main PPVs but the other shows, simple DVD release works for right now and as for FYE, they're on the verge of bankruptcy and they just charge way too much for their stuff, like Borders and B&N does. Only time to ever shop in such places like FYE is when stuff is on sale. Best Buy price-matches and they've been solid with that promise, at least with my experiences so why pay more if you really don't have to in the long run.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I need a little help from all you ROH fans out there.

1. I'm looking at getting into watching ROH. What would you suggest being a good event to start with?

2. I had heard that Steve Corino had a gimmick where he would have like a 10 minute introduction with his own ring announcer where he listed all of his accomplishments, etc. Does anyone know what event this started with?

3. I know CM Punk did his heel gimmick in ROH... does anyone know which event that started with and did he go from face to heel? Or start out as a heel?

Thanks for any help guys!

There's also a pretty good Before They Were Stars: Matt Sydal, which includes all of his WSX work and even a Dragon Gate match.
