Weird. I swear I searched for that right before I posted and it was not there.

I couldn't find it in my search either so I clicked on William Katt's name and it came up.

I was skeptical at first, but I have to give thanks/props to LorenzoL for keeping up this thread.

New stuff seems to always pop up in the OP, after I haven't checked the thread in a while.

I bought John Carpenter's Body Bags for $7-8 with store credit at a local shop a couple weeks ago. Didn't even know it was OOP.

You are giving me too much credit but thank you nonetheless. The members who make the posts with updates, make it very easy to keep the OP up to date. I'll update the post in the next two days since I'm lagging behind because of the holidays.

The Great Waldo Pepper with Robert Redford is listed at around $140 for new and $80 for used for region1 on Amazon and on Ebay it looks like used copies are listed at high 60's but I don't see any new ones. A used excellant condition one right now is going for $40 with over a day left so I assume it will go higher at the end. Crazy...considering it's a fullscreen release and this type of film would really need a widescreen release to do it justice.

I updated everything but because of a database error, most threads and posts from yesterday were deleted. I'll update this again sometime during the weekend.

Brain Donors 27.45/38.75
Truly Madly Deeply 47.00/84.95
Ponette (Fox Lorber) 28.95/67.88

The single disc Brain Donors is. I was surprised that it goes for so much considering that the movie itself is not OOP - it shares a double feature bill with Critical Condition.

I had a used copy of the Repo Man Collector's Edition lounging in my Amazon.com cart, and it leapt from $12 to $30 in the past few days. New copies in the Marketplace are still at $12 while Amazon still has new ones for $16. Hmmm...?

I think both versions are OOP. The double feature with Critical Condition is also showing as unavailable at several sites I checked.

Hey this thread is really paying off...I was at FYE today and with this thread in mind looked closer at all the titles and though I didn't find one from the list I did find a pristine used copy of the recalled Devil's Advocate. Sweet! I credit this thread for my more focused looking :-)

I wouldn't exactly say paying off. It sounds more like it's costing you, since you probably wouldn't have bought that otherwise. -wink-

Well in the short term maybe but this will be a quick turn around...it only cost me $6...I'll get it back and then some.

^Yeah, I don't understand FYE/Second Spin... They have the Babe flipper for $30 in a glass case, yet I picked up QUADROPHENIA (score!) for $8

The reason is that keeping up-to-date with what titles are out-of-print and what people are actually paying for titles requires some extra effort. After a while, they sometimes notice which titles are fetching extra dollars and they mark up accordingly.

I have the Beastmaster complete series collection. It's an 18 disc set of all 3 season of the tv series. ADV Films lost the right to release the show on dvd and recalled the dvds. Luckily, some sets got into a few Best Buys where I found it for a little over 30 dollars. On ebay, I've seen the 37 dollar set go for 130 or more.

No, Brain Donors is not out of print. Neither is Brain Candy or any of the other Paramount titles that Lions Gate re-released as double feature discs.

They are available pretty much exclusively through the Lions Gate website:

http://www.lionsgateshop.com/product...eParentId=5602

but also some wholesalers (which is why they are available cheap through 3rd party sellers on Amazon).

I sold my copy of Let It Ride for like $50 six months ago on Amazon. It's not my fault some people are too ignorant or lazy to do a little research.

BTW, if you have a copy of Matinee, you might think of unloading it as it has been announced that a re-release will be coming soon later in the year. The only thing is whether the release will be a DVD or DVD-R.

The same with Doctor Zhivago, which is being re-released in May.
