anyone else think howard looks very realistic... for creepy human-duck hybrid, that is?
he doesn't move around all weird like ewoks and the usual "little person in a suit"-type character. and his face is very well animated too. i don't know how they created him but it was well done. |

Yeah, but they also provided a not-so-subtle hint of where people could download the special for free. Recently on their message boards they've been pretty vocal that recent blockbusters do a lot better for them than 80s flicks.

Damn! No Blu-ray release. I'm surprised Lucas is not only releasing it, but putting some extras on there as well.
The "Look Back" retrospective oughta be interesting. I wonder if they can get Academy Award winner Tim Robbins to comment on the movie. :) |

I watched this on Hulu a couple of weeks ago, and I still don't understand how this movie gets the "one of the worst of all time" tags. Is it cheesy? Of course it is, but not as bad as some would have you believe.

If there is one movie I'd like to see a completely new version done today, it's Howard the Duck, going back to the Steve Gerber comics and being more true to the adult nature of the comic.
But I will pick up the DVD of this, even though I thought it was a bit of an ET rip off (with the ending) and it really wasn't all that great. It's still a guilty retro pleasure. |

I can't believe the back of the case says it's a film "the whole family can enjoy". Yep, I've always thought duck tits and condoms were family fare. :hump:

Got to BB about 10:15 this morning and they had about 10 copies of Howard. Glad it was only $10. For being old, it looks pretty good in terms of quality. So far its great to see it again and so glad its one more wanted off my list. Now if they would just release Legend of Billie Jean on DVD.
