I used the coupon with no problem at all, 3 stores in my area were sold out of the steelbook and the 4th had about 15.

Got mine in the mail today, the steelbook that is. Now I have both Planet Terror and Death Proof sitting side by side on the shelf on display. Yummy.

I guess it's 50/50. I work at Best Buy. Sometimes they rering the sale (using the SKUs) so you will get the higher price. Sometimes they figure some other way out.

There were about ten Planet Terror steelbooks left at the Best Buy in Southwest Las Vegas near my house when I bought it this morning.

Watch them back-to-back in the proper order.

Is anyone like me considering keeping the $5 coupon rather than using it because it's like an "insert" in the packaging?

My best buy didn't even have Planet Terror on Tuesday and took my name and assured me they would hold me a steelbook when they got it in. They finally called today(Well Friday) and told me they recieved Planet Terror, and they would be holding my steelbook for me. I got to Best Buy later today and not only did they sell my Planet Terror Steelbook, but they were sold out of the copies they got and only had 2 copies of the regular 2-disc edition no steelbook I hate my best buy

I wouldn't go that far, but incidentally... I had extra copies of the coupons, and put one of each in my steelbooks just to look pretty. Hehe.

Like Xage said, you don't really need the huge slipcase if you mange to grab the individual slipcases for the regular two-disc sets.

We are on the same page (as you can see with the pic below)

If you wish to keep that coupon.. I suggest photocopy the said coupon in color and reprint it. Make use of the reprinted one (that worked on my end).

No.

Do you keep the white anti-theft card too?

No, but I did use a paper trimmer on the sheets from the back of the steelbook (that list the plot summary, special features, specs, etc.) to make them fit inside.

i did that too. i think i threw the DP coupon out since i had it and it came with PT. i don't really like extraneous materials that don't have to do with the movie itself, regardless if it leaves me insert-less.

I don't trim I just fold it in half.

I'm such an idiot. Half the time I forget to use the coupon. Right now I'm still sitting on:
-two $5.00 off coupons for Planet Terror and Death Proof
-$5.00 coupons for the extended versions of LOTR still inside my 2-disk versions
-a $3.00 off coupon for a Dragon Dynasty DVD inside my Hard Boiled DVD case
-A free ticket to King Kong inside The Frighteners.
-A free ticket to Resident Evil:Apocalypse inside my Resident Evil: DE DVD.

Gah...The money I could have saved....

Well, it was intentional Vice-versa for me. I just actually liked the cover-art of DP's standard case over the steelbook and much perferred PT's steelbook with just Cherry on the cover and no one else.

Has anybody listened to Rodriguez's commentary on Planet Terror yet or watched the 10 Minute Film School bonus feature? I've heard that on both Rodriguez mentions that Grindhouse will definitely be released in its theatrical version on DVD.

I'm still waiting for my copy of Planet Terror to arrive, so I was just wondering if anyone could confirm this.

I listened to the commentary, he speaks as though the DVD release included both the theatrical and individual cuts.
