Jesus H. Christ friend! I hope that gun to your head isn't too uncomfortable. I hate it when I HAVE to buy two versions of anything. Freakin' studios!

I did it, i'm finally a lame-ass now. I just spent 70$ including taxes and
shipping for one movie...

I just HAD to! I guess the collector in me won. I just thought this movie was so kick ass on so many levels and like i said before i'm such a sucker for cool artwork/packaging and Decepticon/Autobot steelbooks doesn't get much better than that!

I just wish i could find a laminated Transformers poster so i get put a shelf next to it with my two steelbooks and the Mr. Potato Head 'Optimash Prime' that my girlfriend bought me yesterday!

I don't know what i'm gonna do with the extra discs i get. Anyone wanna buy two Transformers discs without the packaging? :P

i was at FYE today and I was talking with one of the guys that worked there, and after i mentioned that i collect steelbooks he claimed that they were getting "tins" (im assuming he meant steelbook) for transformers, one each: decepticon and autobot

so it looks like we may be getting them in the US

can anyone confirm?

I had been anticipating this from the time I saw the teaser last year. Held a ton of promise. Had the look of something that must be seen on the big screen. I figured the DVD purchase was a foregone conclusion. Then I saw it.

Not a bad film, but watching it, I just didn't care all that much, not even in the midst of heavy action. I actually yawned a number of times while waiting for something interesting to happen. Just wasn't able to connect.

Still tempted by the DVD. This was supposed to be the spectacle of the summer, and not bringing it home feels weird. But if I'm being honest with myself, sitting through it again doesn't really appeal to me. At least not now.

Exactly how I feel. But I know I'm going to kick myself down the line if I don't pick up one of those steelbooks on release day, especially if they're not going to last very long on the shelves.

Whee! *coughs* I mean, I'll have to check FYE the next time out.

I'm waiting to to see what store will have exclusives. Like FYE had the limited Hellsing Ulitmate vol 2 with the tin but no artbook, while BB and other places had both. Which defeated the purpose of an FYE exclusive.

Yes just got word we will have two TWEC exclusive Steelbook editions of the 2 DISC SE. One has the Decepticon symbol and the word "Destroy", the other of course is the Autobot symbol with the word "protect"

No pricing as yet, but probably $24.99 ish.

Limited I assume so I recommend preorder.

Transformers so far...

The question.. Who would carry the Exclusive Rights?

And for those craving fans... Please take note that the demographic market for this one is bigger than 300. Please as early as now, plan your visit to your nearest store, dont be a sourgraping loser if your last resrot is just checking the wacky cost at ebay after release date and dont be late if you want to get the very best out of it!

*ooohhh this would be a very exciting release date come next month!

*Trevor.. heads up for your thread on Exclusive Releases..

Regular Packaging

1 disc Steelbook (confirmed from Futureshop)
2 disc Transforming Package (?)

2disc Steelbook (Decepticon/Autobots) back-to-back emblem cover (?)

Exclusive Gifset (confirmed from Bestbuy)

What would be a better place to preorder online for steelbooks by a retailer, FYE or Best Buy?

Neither of the above retailers has the steelbooks.

Future Shop in Canada is the only retailer that is offering the steelbooks in R1 so far. And they don't ship to the US.

See post #86. He seems to have a different take on this subject.
