If you're referring to the regular 2-disc set, there's just a clip of Megatron with Welker's voice. But Bay didn't like it, so he went with Hugo Weaving.

Just bought an HD-DVD player, and this is my first HD-DVD. Are there any differences at all between it and the 2-disc DVD?

What are the "additional special features" avialable for download?

Is it missing any of the features from the 2-disc?

No features are missing. You have more features on the 2-Disc HD DVD than the the 2-Disc DVD.

The best extra available to download now is the "Intelligence Mode" which uses HDi to present the film in a new skin. This skin provides text information, GPS locations, and health meters for the Transformers.

You can also download seven short videos from Sector 7, some of which show off Transformers that didn't make the movie.

More extras will be available to download later like Menubots (Choose your favorite Transformer to be the theme for your menus).

Are these the videos of Volkswagen Bumble Bee & Grimlock? I remember seeing those at a website once. You had to type in a password and everything, it was really cool. Anybody know which website this was?

That sounds absolutely awesome.

Shows off Transformers not in the movie? Fully designed and all?

I am pumped for this type of stuff. Glad I got the HD-DVD player.

Yep. You don't need the password anymore or even have to go to the Sector 7 website. Just load the HD DVD and (assuming your player is internet connected) download the videos to the HD DVD player's memory and you can watch them whenever you want.

I was just at HMV and I saw an advertisement (on those placeholder DVD cases they place on the shelves) for a Transformers 2-Disc 15 inch transforming Optimus Prime DVD. It had a release date of December 4.

So it looks like folks here in Canada will have a chance to pick up the same transforming DVD set that Target carried in the US.

The Menubots download is now available for the HD-DVD. Optimus, Megatron, and Bumblebee are available.

web features & Toshiba HD-DVD laptop??

these HD-DVD features don't seem to work if you can't access the web.
Is there any way to save them to the hard drive so I can view them off-line??

Transformers is $12.99 at Blockbuster. Can't believe how cheap it is now.

Target must have found more Optimus transforming case ones in their warehouse or something. My Target just had 2 of them on the shelf that I know were not there before.

but it hasn`t been officially discounted by dreamworks i guess, because the online retailers still have the full price listing. does anyone know when the date for the dreamworks price drop will be? i mean the title has been released for six months now.

the movie is already playing on cinemax, isn`t that usually around the same time that titles are discounted by studios?

Ever heard of the phrase: "A watched pot never boils."?

i already own the r2 steelbook, but i really love the special edition packaging with the transparent slipsleeve and want to add that one to my collection as well. but rather than justifying myself, does anyone perhaps have a concrete answer to my original question

To answer your question......no one here would know when they will drop it. You could always send an e-mail to dreamworks but they probably won't tell you either. How much do you want to pay for a new copy? My advice would be to not worry about msrp but instead keep an eye out for sales. You might be waiting a long time for an official price drop or worse yet, it goes OOP. I wouldn't be surprised to see it below $10 in november/december. Just have some patience. It's not like you have to see the movie today.

as their are many insiders on this forum i just thought that someone might know about a future price drop. as the movie is starting to play on cable, that`s usually a good hint that dvd price will fall.
you are right, i don`t need to see it today. however i am a bit worried that the transparent slipsleeve will no longer be there on future copies.
unfortunately sales won`t help me. i am home based in europe and therefore rely on online retailers like dvdpacific.
in germany for example the official retail price was lowered this weekend.
as the dvd was released two months later in many european countries i just figured that it would be about time for the rc1 one to be decreased in price as well.
