Best Buy will have all 4 Die Hards in steelbooks on 11/20. As far as the Transformers steelbook, I really like the Autobot one that I bought. I kinda wish I had bought both steelbooks but didn't want to spend the money.

Well, I caved and bought the transforming case yesterday. I was going to hold off and wait until I got an HD player to buy this, but the transforming case was too cool looking. If you can find one at a local Taget I'd recommend picking it up.

I bought the Transforming case at Target as a blind buy, and it was very entertaining. Definite popcorn flick. But I couldn't help wondering how much better it would've been had Spielberg directed it. Nevertheless, the case is very cool.

It's Transformers so I had to get it, and I'm glad I picked up the Target case, but I think it would have been better if Paul W. S. Anderson had directed it. Seriously.

Not to get this thread off topic, but what would Paul WS Anderson bring to the table that Michael Bay Cannot??

A good story? Ha.

It's more what Anderson wouldn't bring than what Bay does.

How somebody can view something like Alien Vs Predator and Transformers, and believe Paul can outdo what Michael did with Transformers... unbelievable.

No director in the world can fix a shitty screenplay.

I think Anderson bares far less responsibility for the crappiness in AvP than Bay does for the crappiness in Transformers. I like Bay's action direction for the most part. He's probably at the top of his field in that department. But he's also just not very good in nearly every other aspect of a film. Sort of like John Woo (at least in his US films). But Woo seems to recognize this and tends to stick close to his strengths, Bay meanders all over the place in his movies- as evidenced by about 30 minutes or so worth of totally unnecessary footage in this film. It's like he thinks everything he shoots is theatrical gold.

is this transforming case really that easy to manipulate and stuff? and is it inconvenient to get to the discs anytime you want with the way they are housed?

I haven't really played with the case yet, but the DVD's are housed on the back and very easy to get to. You don't actually have to transform the case to get them out.

Yes it's easy to move the parts. There are only 4 major parts to move, the two legs and 2 arms, they just swing out from the middle. The head just flips up and the feet flip down & then back to lock them in place.

The discs are housed on the back of the case, like a large round back-pack. There is no need to 'transform' the case to get to the discs. You can just pull the case out of the clear box and flip the case over and the disc holder is on the back.

The discs are actually stored on the back of the transfomer. So you don't even have to do anything with it except flip it over and open up the holder. Real easy.

Can you stand the case up without it toppling over or snapping?

Without toppling over? Yes. Without snapping? Not sure. I'd say yes, but I'm also not going to knock mine over to find out.

This movie really deserves a double dip already. Preferrably an unrated cut. Just so they can fix that ugly F-word bleep. On DVD they fixed it by not showing Tyrese mouth it, like in the theatrical cut. (I noticed this edit.) However, they make it worse, by making the line fully upfront on the audio. They should have taken that split second out all together, or put in the f words, who cares. This bothered me in the theater and it's worse on DVD.

Target over here in San Diego still got the transforming cases... about 18-20 of them on the shelves. Who knows how many they got in the back.

I took the transforming case out of that huge clear packaging, and instead I put Transformers: Beginnings, the prequel comic book and the regular movie all in that one case. I think it looks pretty good. Walmart should've done something like this instead of that big cardboard case.

Well there is the IMAX cut that is something like 2/3 minutes longer. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that comes out around the same time as Transformer's 2 is released...
