It is available in a fold-out digipak. I know this is a fact because I have one of them. I believe the more recent pressings have just been a in a standard amaray as that's what I've seen at my local Best Buy recently.

Anyone know if Rooster Cogburn and the Lady is anamorphic? It doesn't say on the package, but I heard it was re-released not too long ago.

Good thing I decided not to buy the "mislabled" version.

You may already know this, but the first printings of the disc had features listed that weren't even on the disc. So this "Dimension Collectors Series" is not only non anamorphic, its pretty bare bones. I do own it though, but I never paid the outrageous price when it came out.

That's the non-anamorphic one.

Get this: Avoid this:
Actually the newer, anamorphic version did originally come in a digipak, but was later switched to a standard keepcase with a shiny slipcover.

And a couple more for the list:

Back to School (original version, not the "Extra-Curricular Edition") - I believe there are covers for this that list anamorphic and some that do not, however, as far as I know both are non-anamorphic.

Rocky IV (old box set version with the spanning image artwork on the spine) - This one was originally non-anamorphic even though it said it was, and later MGM did a silent anamorphic upgrade (confirmed by many people on the board at the time).

About Back To School.

Isn't there an older version of this which is anamorphic, but not mentioned on the packaging? UPC 027616896919?
The older version you have is UPC 027616805829, correct? It's not labeled anamorphic, is it? http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...or=1#topoftabs

And the newer Extra-Curricular version is not labeled anamorphic either, even though it is? Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

Okay, I take it back. I checked my old Back to School DVD (UPC 027616896919). It is anamorphic, and it says so on the back cover. I even verified it using WinDVD just to be certain since I no longer have a WS TV. Actually, the only place it's listed incorrectly is on the inner ring of the disc itself where it says "Widescreen" instead of "16x9 Widescreen" like all the other anamorphic dual-sided discs from MGM.

I'm not sure about the 027616805829 UPC one, however. Maybe that was the non-anamorphic version and 027616896919 was another silent upgrade similar to Rocky IV. That could be the source of all the confusion.

One the FOXSTORE site, they have listed a Sept 11 release of LIFEFORCE
anyone know if its 16x9? They dont list a thing in features
FOX have been pretty good about upgrading smaller titles, and this should be a 2 disk SE, but ill settle for just a ne disc 16x9 international cut.

(I have the 16x9 theatrical cut from Germany)

A couple more titles not labeled as anamorphic, but actually are:

Desperado (043396116597)
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (043396769892)

Both the originals, not re-releases.

And another Schwarzenegger title that says it's anamorphic, but isn't:

The Villain (043396078758)

I'm noticing a trend here. Columbia seems to be pretty bad about labeling their movies.

Welcome To The Dollhouse 043396825697

I'll update the rest of the stuff shortly, thanks.

Tango & Cash 085391195122.. anamorphic or not?

Cover doesn't state it is and neither does the one review I could find but DVDEmpire and AllMovie both state that it is. Given the release date, figured it was possible it might be without much concrete info that it was.

Anyone know for sure either way?

A question about 1998's "Great Expectations"-I know this was originally a non-anamorphic release but I just picked up a 2 disc, double feature of this and All The Right Moves (at Target for $7.50). The back cover lists each movie as anamorphic (ATRM was already anamorphic). Is there any chance that the specifications on the back are right and it is now enhanced for widescreen tvs??? Hope to find out before opening, thanks.

Very unlikely. Fox DFs are two-discs, which allows Fox to just stick the existing DVDs into a case.

Haven't updated in a long time...

Anamorphic:
Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The 043396769892
Desperado 043396116597
End Of The Affair, The 043396049505
Heights 043396108707
In The Line Of Fire (Deluxe Widescreen Presentation) 043396523197
Silencers, The 043396103658
Truth Or Consequences N.M. 043396826991

Not anamorphic:
Villain, The 043396078758

I'll try to remember to consolidate some of the unresolved questions so we can try to get the answers and wrap those up.

I assume it is, but is the one-disc version of Traffic anamorphic? It doesn't specify on the back.

It is anamorphic.

Not sure if that has had multiple covers released for it but the one I looked up does state Widescreen 16x9 which is how some studios/releases specify anamorphic (though it isn't unheard of for something to use that wording and not be anamorphic so they like to keep it a guessing game sometimes ).

Ditto.
The 1 disc Traffic UPC 025192229923 is specified as 16x9, so that version is. I have updated the first thread with common anamorphic terminology.

If you have something other than this which is mislabeled, LMK and I will add it to the list.

I just picked up the Sylvester Stallone 4 Film Favorites 2-Disc. (The one with Tango & Cash, The Specialist, Demolition Man, and Over the Top) All four titles are listed as 16:9 on the back, but Tango & Cash is non-anamorphic.

^Can't see any reason why they wouldn't be, all the other releases are. So bite the bullet and open it, and please confirm this and I'll add it to the list.
