appreciate the screenshot...mine looks just like that except it's japanese.

I bought mine from Best Buy first week it came out, and I also have the Japanese menu. Looks like a few of these copies got shipped to US retailers by mistake.

Some other Sony releases have this similar problem.
Go into your DVD player's Home Menu, and in configurations, choose MENU LANGUAGES: English, and everything should be ok. You probably have it on MENU LANGUAGES: Default, which for the second disc, is Japanese.

just wanted to report back that changing the player's settings worked and also i popped it into another player and the menu came up just fine in english. weird.

I was just watching this movie and noticed Agent Smith from the matrix seems to be modeled after the agent in this movie

you sure it's just not general Secret Service type look of an agent? I'm guessing that went before Taxi Driver.....

It could be but it sounds like Agent Smith is duplicating the guy's voice along with the mannerisms.
