The hard time people are having finding this makes me feel especially good about getting this for $9.98 shipped from ch.com -- come on, you guys -- it's only $10 to join ch.com, always free shipping, always 40-60% off on everything, and you get 2 free DVDs when you pay the membership fee. Pretty simple actually. This is one of many SE's I can name off the top of my head that just $10...

Did an online inventory search and it looks like not one single Best Buy or Borders in Chicago is carrying this.
If the studio really doesn't want my money, I guess I'll just have to skip this title. Really wanted it, but not going to drive myself crazy looking for it.

My local Best Buy only got two copies of it yesterday, and they sold that day leaving them totally out of stock now. My local Circuit City didn't even get it in stock at all.
I picked it up for $16.99 at the WalMart close to where I live.

I just watched this and it was like watching it for the first time. The transfer is beautiful. Every time I watch this I always notice something new. I love this movie so much I think I can proudly call it my favorite film.
This new set certainly does the movie justice. Despite the lack of the Scorsese commentary (from the Criterion LaserDisc) this is still, imo, the best DVD release of the year. And while the year is still young with so many great releases still to come out. I'm sure this one will still be at the top of many's lists. An amazing package for an amazing film.

Click on that, enter your zip code and click on "find nearest stores". All Best Buys in your general area that have it in stock will be highlighted in red. Doing the in-store pick up is ideal for exclusives if you're worried about them selling out of a particular release.

Weird, J&R in Manhattan had a metric ton of these yesterday. I never would have guessed people were having trouble finding it; when that's the case, J&R usually sells out fast and takes a bit to restock.
Anyway, if you're still looking, try J&R.

Seems like a lot of people are checking Best Buy for this. At almost 8:30pm, two local Targets I stopped by had a good handful copies of the film in stock. Only $16.99 too.
I'm still thinking about if I want to double-dip on this release right now. Good to see that everyone is happy with the new release.

I went to Best Buy and they had 0 in stock and the guy said there were like 2 or so on order. Stopped in Circuit City after, it's right across the street, none. Finally popped into Target real quick on the way back and they had 3 copies all the way on the back endcap which I almost didn't even check.

Barnes & Noble hed 'em this morning for the outrageous price of $25.
I snagged one nevertheless which I'll return/replace, once my $12 copy arrives from ch.com.

So now that this release has hit, can anyone confirm if it's still worthwhile to pick up the Criterion LD for the Scorcese and Schroder commentary track, or is all of the information on that track repeated for in the commentaries and interviews of the new SE?
