I got that too, from another website--my email address ends in @nc.rr.com like many Roadrunners. Is yours in that format, or is it @somewhere.com?
It was a gmail addy. Pretty common, one should think. It seems that it was a quirk with Opera. I tried a different browser and did not see that message.

But now I've realized that my username is already taken.. by myself. I must've signed up a year or two ago then forgot. By now I don't remember the password, and my e-mail has changed several times over. Time to pick a new s/n.

Bottom line. I'm still holding out and haven't jumped ship from DVDAF. Mainly because I already have a DVDSPOT account and I'm not too crazy for it, for whatever reason.

I'm just hoping DVDAF will fix the add new title feature. One would think that would be one of the first things added.

Yeah, it's a problem with Opera. I had the same thing happen: I switched to Firefox and tried the same email address, and had no issues.

After registering, there were no problems with using Opera.

The answer is on the page right before this one. Read either my post or DeputyDave's post.

Thanks fnord, I thought I had read through the entire thread, but clearly missed that.

The mods at DVDAF are now able to add titles and one of them has added 120 titles so far. Here's a link to their forum with the lists, post#9

The owner is doing all the coding himself, and is making progress.

^ While you're at it, post a link to this thread on their board, so that Ed and all of his pals can see what people here think.

Is there a way to delete my account on DVDAF? I've decided I'd rather be at DVD Spot.

No harm in leaving the account open. Allows you to change your mind in the future.

There is a delete account link listed if you really don't want it though.. http://www.dvdaf.com/utils/site-map.html

Has anyone else noticed DVDSpot being pickier with contributions? I've had no problems in the past, but of my latest batch of submissions, nearly half were declined. Is it just me?

Save one or two, these are all titles that I successfully added to DVDAf in the past, without a hitch. I tried to submit the John Waters DVD Scrapbook, for example. This was a mail-in DVD and it's on DVDAf - I was surprised to find it omitted on DVDSpot. It has no UPC and it was declined. It's frustrating that if I wanted to try to submit this again with additional information, I have to start all the way from zero. It's even more frustrating for a 12-disc box set that I spent a lot of time trying to enter. Now that it is declined I have to start all over to enter missing information.

Your best bet is to either contact the editor that had the ticket or post in the DVDSpot forums. There is supposed to be a note when declining tickets as well as possible requests for further info (if it was submitted with only a bare minimum amount of info, especially with something with no UPC which can be difficult to verify info on blind).

Without knowing more, it is difficult to offer a more specific response.

It is now. 40 servers went down in SF yesterday and CNET and other big companies were affected.

Seems that dvdspot has deleted my list of about 400 movies and now i own only 2. Contacted them 2 weeks ago but didnt hear anything. Anyone got another site like dvdspot or dvdaficionado cause im not running the risk of losing my database again on dvdspot.

Please post this info on the forums, rather than any email, as that should never happen. It has to be some database error that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

It is very possible that your info isn't lost and can be restored as there are backups.

To submit a New Title use the url below until we have time to create the links:

Is there any easy way to import over from DVDAf (DVD Profiler) to DVDSpot? It seems to only allow me to import the first 40 or so titles.

Currently only that 50 limit at one time (not sure if it is 50 exact though or something less). Just change the start line number to do the next group (no need to alter whatever file list you are using).
