At least with a local program like this, I'm glad I still can enter new titles manually, unlike an online-only catalog that could go away.

Yep if it all goes bad I'm sure that money will be refunded and people can go about their business as usual. It's certainly nothing to flame fellow forum members about which has been happening at IVS.
I'm sure 3 will be back in one form or another and until then why can't people show a little patience? Being retired I'm far from wealthy but I can handle the loss of $30 for a while.

I agree fully, even though the software may be useless now, for those who use it Im sure we got our money's worth!Ill stick with it until the end.

I just tried it and you're right, it does try to connect and essentially locks up if you try to cancel. After some digging around, I found that if you check the box to "Use alternate internet connection method" in Tools -> Online, you can then cancel the attempt to connect to Invelos and get a window that says "connection aborted" and then the box for entry comes up. Also, once you've cancelled the attempt, subsequent additions can be added without it trying to connect again (until the next time you start the program).
Enter the UPC (remember, 12 digits now) and title and you can add it to your collection and edit any info that's important. Later, when they sort out this mess, the profile can be updated to fill in missing info (I'm not about to type in all those cast members.
). I've done this in the past for profiles that haven't been approved yet. As long as the UPC is there, it can check for updates and eventually get the info.

I love the product - and have used it as a registered/paid user for years.
Just switched to the Invelos 3.0 version recently, and like the enhancements.
I can be patient. I just hope this gets resolved soon.

Found this post at the IVS forum where there's a way to manually enter your titles yourself until this mess is resolved.

Go down the page a bit to a post by "Cyclograph". Follow the instructions and it should work (I've tried it, and it does).

As for being dramatic...litigation is what we do and I know exactly what the time frame is going to be unless a settlement is reached....but then again...maybe Nobody knows how the law works and 1.2 million lawyers are illiterate
All I'm trying to say is that you can easily get your money back now and if/when this is ever resolved you get a new registration key and everything is peachy keen...or wait and lose 30 bucks if it's never settled..choice is yours..I;m just trying to help out

I've tried all three major programs so far (Profiler, Afficionado, DVDspot) and the only one that has my attention is Profiler. Clearly the best one in my opinion as it serves my collection...best! I did not switch to the new version immediately but will as soon as all is cleared out.
As suggested above...patience is a virtue, or so I am told, and waiting a bit for the waters to calm won't hurt you at all.
Finally, to think that you lost 30$ is clearly silly. This entire fiasco has received plenty of publicity so when the legal issues are resolved I am certain that you will either:
a) Have a new and improved program
b) a refund
What is certain at this point is that you/we are not dealing with scam-artists. Legal matters simply must be resolved. That is it!

It's the consumers (us) that are caught in the middle of this and there is very little we can do, other than to sit it out and wait.
What I am doing while I wait is working on a few DVD profiles as well as add new dvd's to the program.

I think they're talking about Intervocative, not Invelos
