"Winner of 4 Academy Awards, including Best Picture", or
"Winner of 4 Academy Awards, including Best Director"
My guess would be "Best Picture". The average movie renter/buyer doesn't seem to give a shit about who directs a film.

Why not just put...

"Winner of 4 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director - Martin Scorsese", or something along the lines of including both.

You are correct. I just picked up the HD-DVD version. And on it is the sticker saying "Best Picture Academy Award Winner".

Scorsese's name alone has incredible salience even to the average viewer. During his speech, he mentioned how many people approached him and expressed their desire for him to win an Oscar.
Now if only he could get the average viewer to pronounce his name correctly...

I'd say most average viewers aren't people who would even recognize him.

Average viewers are just people who buy movies at wal-mart and go to the theater's every once in a while.

Not ones who watch the oscars, know what directors look like etc.

Yeah but I think there are directors like Spielberg and Scorsese that ARE recognizable to the general public.

Scorsese has made many appearances as himself over the years, whether it's on that commercial with the photo developer or his "Curb" episode. He's a famous and recognizable man, my mom doesn't know "Mean Streets" from "Sesame Street" but she knows that Martin Scorsese is a famous director and she'd know him if she saw him in public.

There really weren't any other "special" versions for this movie. You could always buy the full-screen version if you need another one

There may be a few here and there, but my store was sold out after day 1 of the steelbook. They are now replaced with the regular 2-disc version.

I think that it depends on the store. I struck out at 2 best buys this week before going to a third which had like 11 left.

No way, there are 3 in this area of MA/RI and they are long gone...A good way to tell is check Bestbuy.com if they are out of them most likely all the B&M stores are out of them. All the BB I go to have the regular 2 disk set now....Personally I think Ebay is the way to go if you got to have one...

2 options before you drive out and waste gas (gas is too expensive!):

1) Check store availability on Best Buy.com to see if you local store has it...

2) Call the local BB direct and ask if them have any left, if they do ask them to hold one for you...

Good Luck!
