Scorsese's name alone has incredible salience even to the average viewer. During his speech, he mentioned how many people approached him and expressed their desire for him to win an Oscar.
Now if only he could get the average viewer to pronounce his name correctly...

Average viewers are just people who buy movies at wal-mart and go to the theater's every once in a while.
Not ones who watch the oscars, know what directors look like etc.

Yeah but I think there are directors like Spielberg and Scorsese that ARE recognizable to the general public.
Scorsese has made many appearances as himself over the years, whether it's on that commercial with the photo developer or his "Curb" episode. He's a famous and recognizable man, my mom doesn't know "Mean Streets" from "Sesame Street" but she knows that Martin Scorsese is a famous director and she'd know him if she saw him in public.

1) Check store availability on Best Buy.com to see if you local store has it...
2) Call the local BB direct and ask if them have any left, if they do ask them to hold one for you...
Good Luck!
