If you are asked to return original discs (like BTTF), I'd be surprised if WHV needs any additonal "proof of purchase." Myself, I think Warners will do everything in their power to make sure these returns go as easily and smoothly as possible. They are a quality company and have demonstrated countless times over the years their leadership role in the DVD marketplace.

Just curious but from what they said all that's mixing is the 2.0 track from Supe I which I'll never listen to.
And extra content from Supe III?
Is that correct? I was under the impression that Supe III was a worse transfer. If that's not the case then it really won't be that big of a deal for me.

The only thing that's going to suck about this exchange program is having 2 empty slots in the DVD set for over 2 months or longer. However, the original 1978 audio doesn't sound like a huge deal to me, so I may end up passing on sending Disc 1 back. I can definitely deal without Superman 3 for that length of time.

I wish it could be like the replacement disc for SW Ep IV. We didn't have to send that back. That is the route I would like.
I called last night and they didn't seem to know what or when anything will happen yet. they didn't even sound like an official department. I kept asking if this was WB.

Question about sending these discs back....
Does Warner (or any other company in the past) pay for shipping these discs back to them? To put any financial burden on the consumer in cases like this is incomprehensible to me....

I could get no info from the phone number...they simply took my name and number and said they would call back. The girl on the other end said they hadn't been told yet what the replacement process was going to be like. Odd, since Superman Homepage is saying there will be a one-week turnaround for SUPERMAN III replacements. Of course, they didn't say WHEN the one-week turnaround would begin!
Seems cumbersome to take down peoples phone numbers and have to call them all back. You'd think they would have taken addresses down instead.
Unless they're just hoping half of us will forget in a few weeks.

I hope Warner Home Video does this:
1. They'll send you a post prepaid special mailing envelope to send back the defective discs.
2. The replacement discs will be sent back to you via US Priority Mail at minimum (or if you're willing to pay extra service charge via UPS Blue Label express service).
3. If necessary pull all Superman Ultimate sets until WHV can replace the defective discs with the corrected discs. If not possible, put a special sticker on the new production DVD sets with the corrected discs indicating the set has the corrected discs, while posting information at the store telling how to replace the defective discs.

Considering it's close to the holidays and mail is by default dicey during this time, it might be a good idea to send these discs back via certified mail to make sure WB has them. I would be devastated if I sent these discs back and they got lost in the mail.
Also, what good is it for the WB to take down your phone number? Considering how many thousands of calls they are probably going to get, it's bound to get lost. I hope they will release some sort of official mailing procedure like an address.

Seriously though... I can wait a few years or for a nice bargain bin find.

Because that's news to me...

But as for retail price dropping to 50, that's not much less than you can get the set for NOW, if you hunt around a bit.
So you can wait 2 years, save 10 bucks and be sure of correct discs, or you can buy the set now, go through the hassle of exchanging a couple of discs- but enjoy the set over the next 2 years.
I'd rather enjoy it, myself.
Besides, in 5 years there'll probably be yet another box set out.
God only knows how they'll mess that one up.

Took about 20 minutes to get through, & I heard a few other operators doing the same thing in the background.

My guess is that they'll include a prepaid special mailing envelope to send back the defective discs.
