The DVD has been edited from its original intended version. For more info about it one can usually find the details on its IMDb title page under alternate versions or DVD Compare.

Didn't realize how many titles were OOP until I added them to my online list - Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1956), Chaplin, High Noon and The Man Who Wasen't There, and I'm only nearing the halfway point of my list.

Definitely dvdprofiler; online and local, free [I can deal with adware], relatively easy to use and add titles, I like being able to filter by 'unwatched'. If DVDP goes down, I'll hunt for something else then.

Only the USA Home Entertainment release of The Man Who Wasn't There is OOP. I guess DVDAf never added a Universal release when they took over DVD distribution for their titles.

Credits??? I don't know what sites you've been going to, but any time I need a cover, I always go to cdcovers.cc -- no credits required.

But hopefully with some more exploring I can fix this.
You can sort them how you want by Catalog #. I am really picky about my sort order as well. The Lost World has to go in between Jurassic Park 1 and 3. I used Collection # as the sort title and it works perfectly. I love this program. Thanks to the poster who found this.

I was referring to the custom cover websites. I'll look into the cdcovers.cc and see how much work it is to crop the spines. Thanks for the site.

Searched for 'x-men revealed'

Linko.. your DVDSpot collection link just leads one to their collection, if they have one. I clicked on it in order to look up Duh Vuh Duh's question.

Should be.. http://www.dvdspot.com/list.php?memb...tle&sortdir=up

Um, cdcovers.cc *is* a custom cover website. Anyway, hope you find what you're looking for.

Another vote for DL. You can even use your webcam to scan barcodes.

Couple of questions about DVD Aficianado:
1. Is there a way to list them by year of release?
2. Can I convert my collection into an easily printable list?

They have a function to generate a link for display of titles with PDA's that is text only. You could generate the link, open it up on your browser on your home computer and print it out.

format looks something like:

Code:
12 Monkeys - Collector's Edition (1995)
Terry Gilliam,Keith Fulton,Louis Pepe
Universal Studios,DISCONTINUED

2046 (2004)
Kar-wai Wong
Mei Ah

25th Hour (2002)
Spike Lee,Lorna Anozie
Touchstone,Buena Vista

This doesn't help but Profiler can do these easily

Carry on....

I still haven't settled on a program yet. I don't have a Mac so DL is out so it looks like I'm going with Collectorz .

I'm thinking about getting the bar code scanner to make inputting the DVD's a lot easier. Does anybody here own Collectorz Movie Collector with the scanner? I'm anxious to hear how well it works.

I've used Dvdaf for years and although I pay no attention to their forums any longer....I would use no other tracking system. I don't need a pretty layout with pretty pictures, a way to track what I watch or whatever. Just a nice, simple way of tracking my dvds and what my library holds. I also have rare imports that when submitted, have always been approved within 24 hours if not within the hour. It helps to be a charter member....but if you wish to donate nothing...then don't.

I don't know about Collectorz, but I picked up a Cuecat scanner to use with DVDProfiler. I found it to be more hassle than simply typing in the UPCs manually. It didn't really save me any time. And it really only applies to the initial entry. After that, the difference between scanning a few new purchases in vs. simply typing the UPC totally wasn't worth the hassle. But that's just my opinion. Most people who use a scanner seem to like it although I'm not sure if they find it easier or it's simply the techo-geek factor of scanning things in.

Actually, you may have noticed that MediaMan looks identical to Delicious Library, only it's for Windows. There should be a link to the homepage elsewhere in the thread.

Is there a way to stretch out the text? The longer titles get truncated.

OK, while I will never switch from Movie Collector for my main local cataloguing, I am switching the online one from DVDAF to DVDSpot. The database is clean and I love the statistics and flexibility that it has over DVDAF, and I was able to import most of my 2100+ discs from Movie Collector in just over an hour or so. DVDAF is great for a quick listing of your discs, but it's almost a little too simple.

What are different sites that will IMPORT DVD Profiler data? I have over 200 titles and don't want to enter them manually. Does DVDSpot do this? Something I REALLY like about DVD Profiler is that it has a notes section that can be searched. So I would be keeping DVD Profiler, but if I can easily import into others, it'd be great to have multiple profilers.

Movie Collector (collectorz.com) will import Profiler titles. I use it and love it. I think it offers the most features of any of them.

I'm not sure what you mean. Stretch the browser window that pops up and you get no wrapped text. Just copy the text and paste into Microsoft Word.

Wow, I remember reading these threads long ago before I registered and nobody ever mentioned Movie Collector except for a person or two who was always ignored.

I've used it since 99 and have always liked it better than any online one where you could either lose everything one day or you need to access it but internet problems won't let you.

The one thing I hated was when they took allmovieguide off the list of places to get info from since I buy old vhs movies and they always had better info than the other places.
