Actually, my comment about being "done" meant that I was done ranting, not that I'm done buying the films. It's funny, though -- I really thought I could get rid of my SE bootlegs when the official DVDs finally came out, but of course there were more changes to the films. Looks like I'll even have to hang on to my 2004 set, because in the big boxed set of both trilogies, there are reportedly going to be even MORE changes to the films! That's fine by me, though. I'm actually kind of nostalgic for the SEs now, possibly since I actually saw them in the theater and it was all still new then since it was the first time in many years they had been re-released. I welcome more changes though, because I enjoy seeing the story augmented and references being made back and forth between trilogies. Of course given the awful new dialogue in ESB between the Emperor and Vader, the new changes may not necessarily improve the films, at least in my eyes. Seeing Hayden Christensen at the end of ROTJ sure as hell didn't.

It's definitely nice to have actual official DVDs of the films as they first appeared in theaters -- that's at least one set of bootlegs I can dispense with. Maybe we'll get a set of Special Edition DVDs containing the films as they were in 1997, but I'm not holding my breath. I think I'm gonna find some multi-disc cases and put all the different versions of each film together. I wouldn't normally do that, but as crappy as the cover art has been for these latest releases, I have no problem parting with the original art. Oops... just opened another can of worms there, didn't I?

I'll definitely give the BB tin a look, but I'm not big on tin boxes. Just depends on who's got the best price, really. Given that the "graphic novels" will probably be extra-flimsy DVD-sized comics, I doubt I'd be missing much if I passed on WAL-MART's bonus offer, especially since my ESB original is in really good shape, and that's the only one I'd really want. Still, if all three at WAL-MART are less than the tin at BEST BUY, it'll probably be WAL-MART.

SW Exclusives??

Is it confirmed that Best Buy is doing a collector's tin?? I haven't seen any pics yet, nor do I see it offered on their website. Besides the comics at Walmart, are there any other exclusives that have been named yet?

Yes... it's in the recently posted ad in the Bargains forum.

To me, they look to be about the size of baseball cards.

Speaking of which, you get a Han Vs. Greedo card when you order from the Star Wars website.

I'm not counting on the tin to reach the U.S. We never get the cool stuff even though we are the ones making these movies.

None of that extra stuff for me, just give me the movies. I'll have the cover art remade into ThinPak cases anyway.

I think the only way I'd buy the OT trilogy is if a retailer has exclusive bonus dvd content.

That was Future Shop not Best Buy Canada that had the tin package for V for Vendetta. They are owned by Best Buy but are run as a different store (independent from Best Buy) here in Canada.
