After having no luck finding this on B&M stores here in Canada, I will be ordering it through Amazon.ca.

I did find Hard Boiled at Wal-Mart Canada (is the Alliance Canada edition) however, "Last Hurrah for Chivalry" is nowhere to be found here and I have to order it through Amazon.com.

Good luck on picking up those release Lorenzo.

Also if anyone is interested, Target has the DD release of "The Protector" for $10 this week (8/12/07). It's part of a dozen or so un-advertised $10 DVD's.

Yup, picked mine up at Best Buy over the weekend (they had it out early). Used a $3 DD coupon. Great buy.

My BB was in NJ, they had a lot of them actually. One thing to note, is they weren't in the "martial arts" section like most DD titles are. They were in with the action DVDs.

For people who've been following the DD line closely: What movies would you consider to be "the best" (both in terms of the movie itself, and the DVD release) that have been released so far (or until September 4, when the coupons expire)?

I just got Hard Boiled, and I'm probably going to use its coupon on The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. The only other DD releases I have are Infernal Affairs 2 and 3. What other films in the line are consider must buys right now?

Police Story 1 and 2....only because it's classic Jackie Chan although the movies are a little dated.

Killzone aka Sha Po Lang......Great action movie and one of the few times you will see Sammo Hung as the villain. 2 awesome fight scenes near the end of the movie.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to remember that when I go and pick the movie up sometime soon.

As for the DD recommendations...

The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and Police Story 1/2 would be great choices.

I would recommend "King Boxer", "Above The Law" AKA Righting Wrongs and "Millionaire's Express".

I held off buying King Boxer (and all the other recent DD shaw Bros. DVD's) because I am thinking it might be included in the Quentin Tarantino Presents: The Shaw Brothers Collection in November.
Also remember Police Story and Police Story 2 just dropped in price by $5 each and a two pack of both dvd's will be released on Sept. 18 (only around $15 for the 2 pack)

On the latest blog entry in regards to Jean Claude Van Damme, Logan confirms that DD will be releasing "The Killer" and "A Better Tomorrow" soon.

I've actually been blind buying these, and the method I used was to pick one up with the coupon and then use it to pick up another one with a coupon...so on and so forth. I did stray once or twice when I saw a release or two that were slightly higher priced then the rest, in which case I used the coupon to bring it back down to "nromal" price.

Check your local CC. It's the only place I've seen that title at a B&M, minus the local Bay Area shops I frequent.

You try Wal-Mart? Surprisingly, my local store gets just about every Dragon Dynasty title in... even Shanghai Express. Which, by the way, I would not recommend at all. It is incredibly boring until the very end, when the fighting finally starts. I traded it in the day after watching it.

I liked "Shanghai Express", but I'm partial to Sammo's 80's comedies.

i did look at CC. I found Above the Law there, but couldn't find express (their display units drive me nuts, nothing is in order).

i might try walmart too. i have seen some of the titles there.

I enjoyed Millionaires' Express very much especially the humour.

Agreed...finding stuff at CC is misery-inducing. I think of all the B&M I go to, it's one of the worst off when it comes to dvds....

Unless things have changed...

in a few months, it's still owned by Disney.
