Ever Saw: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Ever Owned: Pearl Harbor |
I guess the first one was Boogie Nights (original version), which was also the first disc I purchased. Actually, I also had L.A. Confidential, Contact, and The Truman Show (which had just come out) soon before I got the player, so one of those may have been the first one I watched all of. I think I did put BN in the player first though.
The first DVD footage I saw was the demo disc at Best Buy in 1997, which had scenes from Twister, Goldeneye, and A Time to Kill. |
ell..the first one i popped in was Batman and Robin...now before you flame me the disc along with Space Jam were free in the box of my original DVD player..A Phillips Magnavox....Anyways i popped it in just to test..really...my first DVD I watched all the way though was The original Wizard Of Oz disc...Second one was Face/Off..they were both rented

The first DVD I ever watched was, "Big Momma's House," at a friend's birthday party.
|
On a DVD player: Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
On a PC: Fantastic Four |
That would be the original release of Jumanji back in November 1997. I had just gotten back from the theater where I'd seen that piece of crap Alien Erection and my parents were testing out their brand new DVD player with that disc. At the time I was still under the false impression that DVDs didn't offer any improvement over laserdiscs(which I'd been collecting since the early 90's). Less than a year later I would be buying them up left and right.:)

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
|
The original Stargate release on my pc. Probably sometime during late '99.
|
The first dvd's I watched were Friday and Sling Blade on my computer.
First dvd purchased was the Crow. |
The first DVD I watched was The Matrix.
I got my DVD player Christmas of '99, and I also got Blade, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Ghostbusters. |
I think the first DVD I saw was Deuce Bigalow, back in 2000 or so. The first one I bought was Three Kings shortly afterwards.
|
First DVD player.
Christmas of 1998. First Movie Watched: Scream: The Special Edition. Basically, it was the ported laserdisc edition, but the movie was not uncut like it was on the laserdisc. Laserdisc was bringing out some very nice editions of films between 94-96. Some still outrank their DVD counterparts. Elm Street (released uncut with all the deleted scenes), Looney Tunes boxes, Ransom (Directors Cut that never made DVD to this day), among others. |
The day I bought my first DVD player I picked up:
Starship Troopers (first ed.) Edward Scissorhands T2: Ultimate Edition That night, I watched Edward Scissorhands. For my money, still one the best DVDs in my collection. |
I think mine was Road Trip.
|
Seven - Fullscreen, mpeg audio R4 in 1998.
|
The Matrix... a friend of mine bought the Matrix, and a DVD player on the same night, brought it back to my house and hooked it up.
|
I think I bought Cruel Intentions even before I had my DVD palyer...so that was probably my first.
|
Contact, I think.
|
It was either Reservoir Dogs, The Matrix, or The Little Mermaid as those were also my first 3 dvds...

Either The Glimmer Man or A Time To Kill back around April '97. I believe we got the discs earlier than the hardware arrived, so I had to wait like a month before I could play my discs.
