I haven't seen this mentioned, but I was at Best Buy's website and they are offering a $2.00 off coupon on this new 2-disc set, which would make it $15.99. In store only:

Well, I have mine coming from CH on Tuesday so hopefully I'll be able to get the full works with the slip cover and all. I've been contemplating picking up the box set for a while now and may do so in November if DDD have their fantastioc sale again.

I have the box set, which I love, but I'm still getting this 2-disc version. I remember when the set used to be well over $100. Now it's about $45 everywhere. It's around $38 at DDD.

Thanks for the info on the coupon. I will definitely pick it up now. I picked up a few of the other titles in the series at Sam's Club last week. I was happy to see that they were in keepcases now rather than snappers. That was one of the main reasons I avoided buying the box set.

Thanks Mr Cinema, it's always nice to save a buck or two with a coupon! Now I am going to get BB to price match CC with the Showtime Brotherhood Season 1 set and I will have $4 in my pocket rather than the stores!

THANKS!

I just read the review on the site and in my opinion the original disc looks much better....

Are the second disc extras the same ones that were on the bonus disc of the box set?

Hey guys, I'm not sure how many of you will be picking up the disc from the Bay and Dundas Best Buy in Toronto, but Robert Englund will be there signing the DVD from 5-7 I believe.

I wish they would've included the outtakes of Freddy in his workroom/boiler room that were on the laserdisc. They contained no audio, but I really enjoyed these as you were allowed to see more of how Freddy lived and the grimy environment of his home.

If you're asking about the outtakes, cool. If you're asking about screencaps for the film, shame on you for not looking a page or two back where some are already posted.

It should be incredible. I can't wait to meet him.

(I'm going up there with him. I can't miss the opportunity to meet Robert Englund, even if I have to miss part of my class.)

I never thought about bringing a camera - thanks for bringing that up. I'm used to the Rue-Morgue Festival of Fear, where you have to pay people to get pictures.

It may be my memory playing havoc, but I could've sworn these were on the Nightmare Encyclopedia Disc in the NOES boxset.

Does it have player selectable English subtitles? I kinda assume it doesn't, as seems to be the norm on New Line's Infinifilm DVDs. I think I've read that they claim it isn't technically feasible because the Infinifilm modus uses the subtitle stream, but I can't see why not if you choose normal viewing, it's just another subtitle stream... and stupid not to include them, not everyone has perfect hearing...

I'm getting this on my lunch break and try to use the coupon. I think they'll take it.
