The "Tin Set" really is one of the best box sets I have ever seen.
Bring it on.

Why are they releasing that 8-disc Christopher Reeve collection again? haha I've seen some pretty awesome DVD sets before, but this one is nearly at the top, if not at the top, of the list - an amazing package. I'll probably have to break down and buy this one in November.

From: Right now, my location is DVDTalk, but then again, you should already know that, shouldn't you?
Well, I hate the thought of buying SUPERMAN III and IV, which are abysmal, and rebuying LOOK, UP IN THE SKY!, but Christ on crutches I can't walk away from a set that fine.

I highly doubt we will get a HD-DVD 14-disc set -- current rumor is that only Superman: The Movie, Superman II, and Superman II: The Donner Cut will get HD-DVD releases. (We already know Superman Returns is getting a DVD/HD-DVD combo release.)

There'll be one thing starkly significant about the Donner cut: all or most of the Lester sight and physical gags will be cut out, including the Effel Tower scene.
But it's a shame that John Williams wasn't asked to rescore Donner's cut of Superman II, although the music from Superman: The Movie will be tracked back into the film (along with some Ken Thorne material). I guess Warners thought it would be too expensive to actually hire and record a brand-new score with Williams...

I am afraid I will have to buy this 14 disc Superman tin box set! eventhough I own the previous box set. I didn't want to initially, but it looks so classy and well done, Warner will no doubt be getting my benjamin for this beauty of a box set.
This is more than likely going to be packaged like most TV shows are with the multiple discs and the plastic flip sheets, kind of like the CSI box set etc. and obviously will be in a very nice protective tin box. Very nice!
