Don't like the cover art? Just get the Ultimate Collector's Edition. All the movies, none of the cover art.

This has gotta be a definite marketing ploy to make you buy the box set!

I find it strange that they still haven't officially announced the Ultimate Collector's Set. I'm guessing they haven't because it includes Superman Returns, and they haven't officially announced that and it's cover art and such. I never really thought of any other option than getting the big box set though. (Even when it was originally thought that it would include Supergirl)

you should check your info. the box set will not include "Superman Returns" or the Donner cut of "Superman II".

you should look at the above pics that seem to lean otherwise...WB never said they weren't doing it...the bits is the only site i saw who truly claimed it was cancelled....looks like it was just moved to the back burner. were getting a Reeves set with 8 disc and a mega set with all of that plus donner and superman returns, as well as a bonus disc not in any other set it seesms

of course it hasn't been officially announceed...but neither has superman returns

The 8 disc Christopher Reeve Superman collection doesn't include those discs, but the previously announced Ultimate Superman collection (The 14 disc set) DOES include Superman Returns, the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2, Look, up in the Sky: The Amazing story of Superman documentary, and another disc with a documentary produced exclusively for the set.

I'm also surprised it hasn't been officially announced, though capedwonder.com seemed to confirm it's existence last night in this quote "As I'm sure you are well aware by now, 28 November 2006 is the BIG DAY for the release of The Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition, The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection, Superman II: the Richard Donner Cut, and so much more on DVD!!"
My guess is that Son of Zod is right, and they're not announcing it until they announce Superman Returns officially.
I'm also thinking that when it's released it'll be really expensive, and in very limited numbers. But i can't wait for it.

It's these discs that are gonna push me to buying an HD-DVD Player

Hey Jim, thanks for the site info. capedwonder.com is one of the best I've seen dedicated to the Reeves Films. Their downloadable Multimedia section is fantastic.

And speaking of covers, they should have used this Wallpaper ....

....would have looked great as a DVD Jacket. Hummm, time to design my own I think.

Yeah, I've pulled many a wallpaper out of that section.
I hope that site sticks around for a long time.

I've had nothing but problems and no responses from Warner Bros so I'm looking at it a different way. Trust me, kind fella, it's not just about the covers.

Lets not forget how "great" the batman re-release covers were. This company has monkeys working for them in the art department...and the customer service department...and the quality control department...etc etc...

What's wrong with the Batman SE DVD covers? They are all based on the one sheet posters of the movies.

In regards to Warner movies releases, what quality control issues are you referring to? They have been one of the best studios in the past 3 year IMHO.

Now, the animation department is a different story...

Superman looks like a couch potatoe in that pic.

?? The Batman re-release covers were just the theatrical posters. Heck, I remember when Batman Returns was coming out, people were breaking bus stop glass to steal the Batman Returns poster.

He's got great big manly muscles in that pic Dude. Unlike that male model type guy in Superman Returns. Or Dude, maybe your aspect ratio is like whacked. Switch to 4:3 man and enjoy!

I hate the boxcovers (but I'll learn to live bravely with them, I guess), but it is quite a thrill to see the Reeve/Brando scenes from Donner's SUPERMAN II.

I don't expect this [admittedly unfinished] sequel to be a masterpiece, but I am giddier than a slobbering fanboy to see this footage after 25 years.

Hey bra, Christopher Reeve will be the ONLY Superman to me ever, but bra, he just looks weird in that wallpaper and out of place.
