My 1st post in this thread I said Pulp Fiction, which already has a great DVD, my second post I said Dumb & Dumber, which would be cool but the upside is limited. Upon further reflection my first choice is definitely Network. Terrific movie, horrible DVD, with reality TV hopefully a season past its peak nows the time to update this prescient classic.

I think most of these have been mentioned but my list would be
Dazed and Confused
Harold and Maude (not a huge fan but Criterion would get it right)
The Game
The Wall w/concert footage
Dog Day Afternoon

A Mae West Special Edition boxset

I would release a Mae West Special edition boxset, featuring the classic comedies made by this much imitated star. Night After Night, She Done Him Wrong,I'm No Angel, Belle Of The Nineties, Klondike Annie, Goin' To Town, Every Day's A Holiday,Go West Young Man, My Little Chickadee, and The Heat's On.

The sad thing is that Mae West is now remembered by two films made at the end of her life and not in a good light, Myra Breckinridge, is interesting but Sextette, is mostly just embarrassing!

I'd like to see more of Veronica Lake films. And "It happened One Night" would be cool as well.
I know someone said "Lost Highway", but I'd like the whole Lynch catalog. Or at least a good amount of his films, Elephant Man, Ereaserhead, Blue Velvet, Wild at heart. Even if we already got some good editions of a couple of those.
Someone already beat me to saying Battle Royale.

It would be nice to see "La Dolce Vita" on Criterion.

I would also love to see the 1981 film "High Risk" released by them. A very good little film that needs a decent anamorphic transfer.

Why? Koch Lorber is coming out with a 3-disc release of this film soon, in addition to their already released 2-disc. What could Criterion add? Oh, that's right; I keep forgetting - a spine number.

Is 'the Game' the movie with Katie Holmes?

I'd love to see:

Bladerunner
Delicatessen
Bottle Rocket(needs a better release)
North by Northwest(needs more special features!)
The Searchers(same as north by northwest)
ANY Mel Brooks film (especially men in tights & young frankenstein)

I would say a couple of films by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, not only will these bring what I believe would be the first Spanish language films released by criterion and the first from Latin America not counting Black Orpheous due to it being a French production for the most part. These are the ones I would like to see and kill for:

Memorias del subdesarollo (memories of underdevelopment)
La Muerte de Un burocrata (death of a Bureaucrat)
Las doce silla (twelve chairs) could be released with the russian version and even the mel brooks but that would be going too far and finally
La Ultima Cena (the last supper)

this would bring a nice set and bring to the light a great director who because the political relationship between Cuba and the US might not be know as he should be in this country.

I'd kill for a by Brakhage-style collection of William Wegman's work. They'd need to include The Hardly Boys in Hardly Gold, of course, which I think is the funniest thirty minutes ever put on film.

I absolutely agree with some more by brakhage type releases, beginning with Bill Viola. Wegman is a good choice as well. It's impossible to find good film and video art.

Not only do the following need Criterion DVD releases, they deserve them, because most of the listed movies are nowhere to be found on Region 1 DVD and these movies fit the usual profile of a Criterion DVD:

1. The Holy Mountain (Alejandro Jodorowsky)
2. Time of the Gypsies (Emir Kusturica)
3. Underground (Emir Kusturica)
4. Black Cat, White Cat (Emir Kusturica)
5. Arizona Dream (Emir Kusturica)
6. Life Is A Miracle (Emir Kusturica)
