A couple more I thought of:

The Year My Voice Broke

Flirting. (Anything to get rid of this AWFUL cover. Those involved should be ashamed of themselves.)

When this question came up the last time (two years ago, I think) I said, Performance. So I'll say it again: Performance.

Peter Weir has apparently stated recently that a remastered edition is in the works.

My choices:

Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (Peckinpah)
Raise the Red Lantern (Yimou)
Until the End of the World (279m cut; Wenders)
The Spirit of the Beehive (Erice)
Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (Oshima)
The Butcher Boy (Jordan)

By far my #1
Dumb & Dumber

Then again, the commentary would probably consist of BS "There's my mailman, that lady does my laundry, I went to high school with that extra."

I'll add another vote for Jean de Florette/Manon of the Spring, please oh please.

Also, how 'bout

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
Othello
(Laurence Olivier)
Wise Blood
The Shooting Party
Last Holiday
(Alec Guinness)
Our Man in Havana (AG again)
Kafka (honorary AG listing)
One Day in the life of Ivan Denisovich

That'll do for now, thank you.

I'd sure like to see some more Renoir's, like La Bete Humaine or Une Partie de Campagne. Also, Fires on the Plain, Sansho the Bailiff, or City of Sadness.

As for perennial fanboy favories The Game and Bottle Rocket,

But why? Were there any features or extras on those laserdiscs that aren't found on the DVD releases of those films? Oh, that's right, they had a spine number. I forget, that's what really matters...

Here's some I think are the kind that Criterion would release:

Welcome To The Dollhouse
Life Is Beautiful
Double Happiness
High School
If....

Now here's the movies I would like to see Crietrion try to release, all that I can think of at this time:

Freddy Got Fingered
Santa Claus Conquers The Martians
UHF
Any of the full-length Three Stooges movies
Any of the "Beach" movies that starred Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon
Rock 'N Roll High School
Pardon My Blooper

and like I said in a post in another thread:

Gigli

Psycho isn't anamorphic, we could start there.

Good thing Criterion are not taking seriously what has been said in here. There are some...how should I put it...unusual suggestions!!
