I'd like to think that some early Depalma films are in the realm of reality for Criterion. "Dionysus in '69", "Wedding Party", and "Greetings" would be great. "Sisters" must not have sold very well for them.

"The Game" would be awesome, but I doubt it would ever happen. We can hope, though...

"Breathless" is a natural.

And then there's my all-time guilty pleasure, "Transformers - the Movie"! I won't hold my breath for that one...

Bottle Rocket so that it can be included with all of Wes Anderson's other Criterion releases. This movie definitely needs a commentray track as well as some behind the scenes and deleted scenes.

real suprised to see people want criterions on some already great SE's...Fight Club, Amadeus, Hoosiers...what more can be added than a criterion banner.

My biggest hope in the Image/Home Vision front is that some of Image's titles could be sent over to Criterion....THe Bicycle Thief could really use some special treatment.

Second the wong kar wai movies 2046, and ashes of time....

Lilja 4-ever would be good if anyone could put it out.

I would also like to see Criterion do more classic american films. They had done such a good job of presenting the best of the public domain realm, its sad they hardly ever touch the stuff anymore. My Man Godfrey, carnival of souls...good stuff. here's to hoping they touch on that a bit more.

They're releasing a bit too many artsy fartsy films at the moment I think. I would love for them to start releasing more genre films, like the spaghetti westerns Geist mentioned for example.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie

Previous barebones DVD is long out-of-print, so a Criterion SE with deleted footage as an extra would be a perfect release.

I wish they'd re-release Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) with a 16x9 enhanced transfer. It would also be nice to get that "Dream Within a Dream" documentary, a commentary track with Peter Weir, and the seven minutes of deleted footage as supplements.

About the aspect ratio, the Criterion disc is matted to 1.66:1 and is labeled as "Director Approved." Aren't a lot of the overseas DVDs of Picnic matted to 1.78:1?

My Dinner with Andre
Vanya on 42nd Street
After-Life
Harold & Maude

Someone mentioned Image and I agree it'd be great to see some of their catalogue get better treatment. Bicycle Thief was mentioned. I also like some of the Broadway Theatre Archive releases they put out, some of which could fit in, I think.

I'd also second, among others:
12 Angry Men
Blade Runner
Cool Hand Luke (which will probably get a good WB SE eventually)
21 Grams

Ok so we have had a lot of good suggestions. I think The Game and Bladerunner seem to be generally found to be great choices.

But heres another question. Which films HAS Criterion released that yoyu don't think deserve the treatment. Personally i think that Armageddon is an obvious choice here, but i also think that the Life Aquatic is not a great choice.

What do you folks think????
