I don't consider music replacement in Everwood to be bad news. To me, the songs were like product placement anyway....just so they could sell CDs at the end of each episode (when they told us what CDs were for sale at the WB store online.) Which is why I am always confused by the music rights on shows of that nature... This isn't WKRP or Wonder Years. The songs were there to SELL CDs to the fans of the show. You would think that the show was PAID to put those CDs in there as product placement. Of course, I have no idea how it really works, how the songs originally were chosen for the show or what, but I'm just sayin...

I am sure they can find some adequate replacement music. It wasn't a show I watched for the music anyway. And I will be thrilled when the remaining seasons hit on DVD.

And somebody mentioned Roswell...I never watched it when it was first on TV, so I had no idea...

The music that was originally used in Everwood was some of the best, and most fitting, I have heard in a series. They really picked some great songs that really captured certain things that were going on. Somebody really knew their music and how to use it.

That being said, it's not an issue with me if that's what it takes to finally get these out. I just want the DVD's!.

Just as long as scenes don't end up cut from the show because they couldn't find replacement music, and we get the full episodes, I really don't care.

Yeah, I'm sure marketing factors in, and I know some artists "made it" because of shows like this and Dawson's Creek, but man, when the right song hits you at just the right moment... Then that emotional moment is tied to that song for you forever.

2-0-0-9 baby!

Discussed a little here: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=539702

News item from TVonDVD: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Eve...-Planned/10533 (references same Warner home video chat as the DVDTalk link)

I can only hope this means 3 and 4 are soon to come.

And when 4 hits shelves I'll buy all 4 seasons. Until then, I don't want to wait 5 years for each seasons.

Well that's a catch-22, because if people really keep waiting for all four seasons to be released, then seasons 3 and 4 will never be released because the sales for season 2 will be so low.

That's Warner problem for not putting out all the seasons in a timely fashion not mine. I'm pissed that The Adventures of Pete and Pete Season 3 was canceled. Pissed about Murphy Brown. Probably going to get pissed when Early Edition Season Two never materializes. At this point, I won't touch a show (that's already completed its run on TV) unless all the seasons have been released. If Warner does not want to risk releasing all the seasons on DVD I don't want to risk wasting my money on incomplete series.

I agree with ya Gizmo! I'm a huge collector of tv shows on dvd and have hundreds of sets. I'm pissed that certain shows (Everwood and Gargoyles for example) get started with sets, then they just stop!! I also hate buying full seasons of shows for many seasons only to have a slim "Complete Show" set offered for a lower price and nicer features!!
So... I'm shopping much more carefully now and waiting for certain shows to finish before I buy them!!
