Everwood Season 2?

Does anyone know if there are any plans for EVERWOOD Season 2 to be released on DVD? I purchased Season 1 and I'd be disappointed if they didn't continue on.

Vandelay, you're contributing a total chicken-and-egg conundrum: If you don't buy first seasons of shows you want until additional seasons are available, you're reducing the likelihood of additional seasons ever materializing by reducing the sales of season one!

that's unfortunately true, which is why many first season sets come with minimal features. It's obvious that some stars are absent from new features until the 2nd season hits.

But shows on dvd are so big now, what shows are out now that have only Season 1 on dvd?

Malcolm in the Middle, Laverne and Shirley, and American Dreams all spring to mind immediately.

Yeah, the lack of follow up on Malcom in the Middle caused me to sell my season one set.

I will buy Malcom season one if they ever commit to releasing the other seasons.

I came across some specs the other day and "Everwood" did not sell very well on DVD. Many stores have started selling the set at a "discount price" (usually $30) so Warner Brothers can make up there loses... It doesn't look good for season 2.

That's odd. I just assume most new shows will get DVD treaments now. There seems to be a market for everything, guess I was wrong. Really surprised about MitM.

My wife is a big fan of "Mad About You". Even though she is happy with the 2 season sets it just erks me that we shelled $$$ out for something she may never get to finish. Many years ago I purchased Cheers and Northern Ex on VHS only to see that never get a full treatment.

So unless a studio is going to make a commitment they WILL NOT get our $$$.

This is a real shame as I originally thought when S1 was first released that it was too soon since it was a new show that many havent gotten a chance to sample. 3 seasons later and I think it's writing is leagues ahead of other family/teen shows. And with the abrupt scheduling change for next season and the way storylines advance so rapidly, there may be only a few years left in it. Hopefully the original news of having it out by the end of the year will be true and I can pick it up along with S1.

I remember when this release originally came out Warner Brothers was expecting above average sales for the set but in reality they got below average sales... I think that there holding off producing more seasons until the show ends... I just wish they would get going faster because I stopped watching in season 3 and want to know what happens..

season 2 is great. Especially that Colin Cliffhanger must be torture for all the newbies.

Not according to www.tvshowsondvd.com. They would be the first place to check for any news, and if there is no news there is no news.

Fox is having problems getting the music for season 2, so that's stalled the release. It doesn't have anything to do with the sales.

As for Everwood; sales sucked, so chances of season 2 are slim.

Thanks Gord. That's unfortunate about Everwood.

This is Gord's site: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/
I've found his "wild remarks" to be quite accurate.

Very familiar with the site, but I've still never seen a story that says sales sucked. =P

I've done searches on purpose over there to find news. Last bit was from April or something.

So you would believe it if you saw it in a story on his site but you don't believe what he has written in this forum? OK... I don't understand that but please yourself. Personally, I think his word is good wherever it is written.
