i wanted it to but there must be some reason not to release it now.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into an Ed Wood situation where some copies leak out. I have it on order at DVDEmpire and from a local shop. We'll see what happens.
Ironic, since Bill Murray was also in Ed Wood, and that was delayed. Maybe there is a conspiracy!

Bill Murray's only had about 10 movies come out over the years since the advent of DVD, they could have cross-promoted with any one of them. If that was the only issue, they would have released Quick Change in conjunction with the DVD release of Lost in Translation so they'd be side-by-side on the new releases end racks at stores.

Quick Change
Just a note that Warner Home Video has removed Bill Murray's Quick Change from its listings. The disc, which was due next week on August 30th, is now indefinitely delayed. My personal guess is that they may be adding bonus materials to what was a bare-bones disc. But then again it could be one of those pesky legal issues holding it up. We'll let you know more if we find anything out. And remember: sometimes their noses are horns.

Remember when Danger Diabolik was pulled from the release schedule and fans paniced? Some assumed the 'terrorism' angle 'scared' the studio from releasing it.
Yet they were wrong and thus you should'nt always jump to conclusions of 'they're not releasing it because.....'. That film ended up coming out as a somewhat SE with a few extra features.
So there is a good chance the same could be said for Quick Change. Afterall, despite being a failure upon release. It has grown a cult audience over the years. With the stars in the film. It's ripe for milking for all it's worth.
So don't be to worried and negative just yet. If no hint of a SE is announced within the next 6 months. Then worry your little hearts out until there is no tomorrow!

Ok, fine and all, if you are not a fan of the film and don't mind waiting 1/2 a year for any word on a possible release date, when it was only 7 days away from release.
A couple of reasons why it was pulled from release could be:
1. The studio wants to release it at a more appropriate time (use as a tie-in for Broken Flowers DVD).
2. The studio may have pulled it to generate more interest in the title, for release in the future, use it as a clever marketing ploy.
3. The studio wants to add extra's and stuff to the dvd, and changed their minds at short notice.
4. The studio may have found technical problems in the presentation.
5. There may have been some kind of legal issue associated with the release (something in the artwork maybe).
6. There may be no real reason at all, just didn't fit into their equation for release.

I was just about to capture it off of Starz in a couple minutes, then I got an email from DVD Empire:
We have just been informed by the studio that the
release date for 'Quick Change' has been changed
to 2-14-2006.

Well, at least it has a release date now. I won't hold my breath on it either, but at least there is a release date now, and not some crappy Amazon.com 2010 or 1969 unreleased date.
This time it will probably be released.

I'm not too upset over the delay, since I've plenty of DVDs to keep me busy -- but the day this thing hits the shelves, I'm all over it. Glad to see this flick has so many fans; I remember seeing it on opening night, and my friends and I thought it was hilarious. Repeat viewings on cable have only bolstered my affection for Quick Change.
