I heard they have recalled Vol. 3 in certain areas for lack of special features.

I just would like someone to tell me if I have NOT seen all of the series, and I am just watching them as it comes out in Starburst form, should I wait to watch Peacekeeper Wars (for spoiling content). And should I buy Peacekeeper War's now as to it maybe not being available when all the Starburts are released?

Thank you

Heartagram:i can't answer your question about the movies possibly spoiling anything since i haven't seen this show yet,but i would just buy it now just to be on the safe side.Which reminds me,i need to pick it up myself.

I'm in the same boat you are. I too haven't watched any of the series besides what is now available in the Starburst Editions. Well, I caught an episode here and there during initial broadcast run, but never followed it regularly. Anyway, I bought the Peacekeeper Wars set back in January when Starburst Vol. 2 came out. Because the Starburst Editions won't finish up till Sept. '06, I couldn't phathom waiting that long to watch it. So I took the plunge and watched it anyway. Spoilers? Well, at that time, having only seen up through Vol. 2, I was a bit lost with some plot and who some characters were. However, if you've seen Vol. 3, then some of what I was confused about gets cleared up a bit.

Spoiler:
Basically the PK Wars mini deals with the culmination and resolution of Scorpius' and the Scarren's quest to get the secret of Wormhole Technology from Critchen to use as a weapon. As I said, if you've seen Vol. 3, you'll get this part of the mini, however, you'll still be confused about who certain characters are.

So buy it and watch it if you wish/must, just don't watch it again 'till you're done with Vol. 12 of the Starbursts. As for it going OOP, well who knows...It's already pretty cheap as it is..just $10 or so, IIRC. I'd grab it now and wait or watch it, whichever you want.

You should absolutely, positively NOT watch Peacekeeper Wars until you have finished with Seasons 1-4. Not only will you have spoilers up the ying-yang, you will also be confused as hell.

The show has an ongoing, somewhat intricate story throughout -- even moreso in later seasons than Season 1. You don't want to jump ahead.

As far as buying it now, I suppose you can... but I don't think you need to. I don't get any sense that this will go OOP anytime soon. And if it does, you should have plenty of warning.

You could buy Peackeeper Wars but DO NOT WATCH it until you've seen the entire series. The Peacekeeper Wars is the conclusion to the series.

Anyone else have a problem with the final episode of Starburst volume 3, "Family Ties", breaking up and skipping? Two players and the same thing. I think it is the only epsiode which features two audio commentaries and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it or if I just caught a bad disc.
Thanks.
Farscape. Best science fiction show of the past twenty years.

I finally found a copy of Vol. 3 at my local Best Buy - and it was the only copy they had. Why aren't these getting better distribution? I hope I don't have this much trouble with the remaining releases, as I like to buy DVD's with cash in the B&M on the day they come out.

I've never even seen one episode of the series but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'm definitely interested in these new releases, though I have some questions before I take the plunge. Is there any plans to collect the separate releases into season sets? Is there any chance they'll speed up the releases of future Starburst Editions? Will the Peacekeeper Wars miniseries have it's own Starburst Edition? Finally, is Farscape's story officially finished or is there room for additional miniseries and/or movies?

I just purchured the first 3 Starburst editions after never seeing a single episode. Hope its good!

Also, I hope to somehow get a cardboard sleeve to hold each season. I hate having so many Amrays!

That would be telling but yes, there is a door left open for a further mini-series or a movie. No there probably won't be "Starburst" edition of Peacekeeper Wars because Lion's Gate did the hime video honors while ADV has been doing the series proper. Does that mean we won't see a second edition of TPW with a longer cut and different features? Don't know.

Well, I too hadn't seen the series very much. Well, I tried to watch it during the first season when it first aired. I think I caught about a half dozen episodes before I lost interest in it. But viewing the complete first season now via the Starburst Editions, I can truely say that this series is really special. A 3-episode arc near the end of Season 1 was enough to seal the deal for me. Excellent acting and drama.

I'm definitely interested in these new releases, though I have some questions before I take the plunge. Is there any plans to collect the separate releases into season sets?
I kinda doubt it. Each Starburst Edition is just a 2-disc single-wide keepcase. It'd be awkward to just box up three keepcases to sell as a season set. Four I could see, but not three.

Is there any chance they'll speed up the releases of future Starburst Editions?
Again, probably not. Right now, they're coming out every other month. The first was last November, the second was January, the third in March. Next one should be coming out in May.

Will the Peacekeeper Wars miniseries have it's own Starburst Edition?
Once again, I highly doubt it. The PK War set was a 2-discer with the mini-series on one disc with extras on the second which included a 30-minute "Making of" docu.

Finally, is Farscape's story officially finished or is there room for additional miniseries and/or movies?
Well, the story is indeed officially wrapped up. The mini is essentially 3.75 episodes worth of material. They wrapped up all the lose threads that the rest of the series left open. However, the producers have said that in the future they could make some more mini-series that could tell their own self-contained stories, but since Ben Browder has now joined Stargate SG-1, it'll be quite some time before they'd do this.

I'll just tell ya this...I held off buying this series because it was not wrapped up. But now that PK Wars have successfully done this, I have jumped at the chance to own this series via the Starburst Editions...especially for the special features. ...if they had any...

I just about burst out crying when I saw the preview for "Stargate" with Ben Browder in it.

Why stoop so low, Ben?

When? WHEN?!?!?! I don't see anything about a release date for season 2. I'm almost done with season 1, and I can't wait forever to continue. WHEN ARE THE SEASON 2 STARBURST EDITIONS COMING OUT??? And will they special features?

Here's somewhat of a weird question relating to people who bought the starburst editions. Is Volume one packaged differently? Mine seems to hold each disc on the side of the amray, with the insert directly in the middle. The other two starburst's have a different setup.

Yeah, I noticed that too, Gizmo. I didn't like the insert in the middle, and I'm glad they changed it.

Are you saying that the volumes 2 and 3 don't have inserts?!?!?!

That's just the last straw. No special features and no insert = NO SALE!!!!

2 and 3 have Inserts...just not smackdab in the middle of the case.

Not sure I'm following your logic here... why would 3 keepcases be 'awkward' to package together as a season? That's certainly been done before... Sports Night, Alias, Once and Again all immediately leap to mind. I don't see where 3=awkward, 4=fine.

Personally, I fully expect them to combine these 3 volumes into one set. That's the pattern that they followed with release #1, so I suspect they'll do that with Starburst. It's a lot easier for consumers to grasp the concept of buying a "season 1" set than buying "Starburst Vol 1, 2, and 3".

I don't know what a "smackdab" is, or what it would be doing in the middle of a case, or what it has to do with inserts, but it sure sounds like a "special" feature.

What is this "smackdab" you speak of, and does it have a commentary?
