Hey guys, I'm new here, and like most of you, I can't wait for this set. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of, like, inside the packaging. Like how the main box opens up and how the DVDs are stored and such. Very cool board by the way.

Two comparisons between the old and the new versions of Batman and Batman Returns.

They are for the German R2 versions - but the R1 version are probably the same.

You have to move your mouse over the pictures to see the new version.

Cool links Temujen, thanks!

well the first one still looks like shit IMHO...but Returns looks amazing! what a difference!

Kube 10-17-05 11:07 PM

I haven't read every post---but it seems that the films are basically the same...

No extended versions of the movies.

Masamune 10-18-05 12:03 AM

2 looks amazing. 1....yikes.

Masamune 10-18-05 12:14 AM

I want this set so bad tho too. I think it's gonna be too expensive tho.....=/

On a side note I didn't see too many copies of this at all. Walmart had none, not even individual movies. I picked up the last copy at Target which didn't even mention the sale price of 49.99.

majorjoe23 10-18-05 11:02 AM

I haven't received my copy yet, but would Batman Begins fit in the place of Batman & Robin?

canaryfarmer 10-18-05 11:22 AM

Keepcases are the same size across the board, so yes.

edit-well, the single disc version would fit at least. I haven't seen the 2-disc BB in person, but I assume it's a single-width keepcase as well?

ENDContra 10-18-05 11:24 AM

Damn...I was planning to get the first two only, but then I noticed the box set was only $4 than the two by themselves from Columbia House...the cool box and Batman Forever are probably worth $4...Im such a sucker for a deal :).

The 2-disc version would fit, but only if you store the slipcover and the comic book bonus separately. The depth of the slipcover is greater than the keepcase depth to accomodate the comic book, much like Constantine DE.

I went to Best Buy at 10 am. They had ONE (yes, ONE) Batman Anthology set and it was dented on the bottom back side. I'm really anal, but I really didnt feel like driving over to Target or Wal-mart so i gave in. It's a small dent and i'd probably be the only one who noticed this.

Another shitty thing was almost ALL of the Batman Begins DE sets had box-cutter marks on the spines. If there weren't box-cutter marks, the boxes were banged up. I FINALLY found a box that was acceptable.

Then i searched high and low for Saw uncut. Finally found it buried on a cart of stuff that hadnt even been put out yet.

So i get in my car after and look at the saw case and it's cracked COMPLETELY down the middle. The guy who rang me out mustve slammed it when he put it in the bag. So i had to go back and exchange it. I must say the SAW packaging is pretty sweet, even though it's in a plastic jewel case instead of a keep-case. I wish there was some standard here but that's besides the point.

The main thing i was trying to say is Best Buy only had ONE batman Anthology. i know this b/c there was someone else looking for one, the guy checked the inventory and he said they only got one in stock. stupid.

Edit: I think the comic book is a nice throw-in item.

gryffinmaster 10-18-05 11:52 AM

Guys, are there inserts included in these special editions? My boxed set had no inserts.

bboisvert 10-18-05 12:11 PM

Warners doesn't do inserts.

The Best Buy I went to only had three Anthologys. Fortunately I had no case problems, and all the discs checked out.

What irked me was the store had a display out front of Batman Begins, and Begins was in the new release section. The individual releases of the older movies were also scattered around the new release section. But to find the Anthology, I had to go back to the collections area.

I work at Best Buy in Cleveland, OH and to reply about not having any of the Batman Box Sets on the New Release feature wall, we don't choose what goes on that wall. We are given a planogram that decides what goes on that wall. The companies pay to put their product on there. Sorry to hear about everyone who got messed up products (cut spines and dented cases) from the Best Buy stores.

Rogue588 10-18-05 01:23 PM

It's $49.99 at Costco too.

It's not about BB not having these in the new-release section, but about not having these boxes AT ALL - not even in the box-sets section.

DVDFreaker 10-18-05 02:06 PM

I got Batman Returns today but will get Batman tomorrow, I am very suprised to see Batman Returns got DTS, I'm curious to see what other people think of the DTS sound? I would check it out but I do not have DTS setup...

AndyCleveland 10-18-05 02:09 PM

im talking about Best Buy in North Olmsted, Ohio. I f-ing hate that store. But i go there cuz im close to it.

If i have time, ill drive to the elyria one b/c its much cleaner and with a better selection and they seem to take care when stocking items.

EDIT: and , yes, the guy at the Best Buy in N. Olmsted did say they only got ONE anthology set. ONE!

Fortunatly, Target seems to be very competitive lately. Anthology for $49.99... Fiona Apple Dual Disc for $12.98 (Best buy was $17!), all new release cd's are $9.98.

EXACTLY.

The Valeyard 10-18-05 02:50 PM

I called my surrounding Wal-Marts and none of them had the Anthology in stock. Two of them told me they were expecting them but didn't receive their shipment today.

torgo100 10-18-05 03:20 PM

I got mine at Target. The first movie has a lot of bobbing during teh title screens, and actually seems to happen during the movie as well. I am going to check it on my rig at home tonight, as it just may be crappy WinDVD version that I'm running at work. I'll aslo check it against my Laserdisc version.
