Are You In Debt Buying DVDs?
I was just curious how many of you are in credit card debt over buying DVDs. I buy a lot of them, but always pay cash. Just wondering HOW MUCH in debt some of you are?
I don't believe in credit cards, if you don't have the cash then don't buy it you know? I always buy with cash also, but dvd money is running out fast for these next months.
I'll bet some of you are 5-10 thousand dollars in debt over DVDs.
Nope.
No.
I am, but not solely from DVDs. No big deal, as i always have enough to pay significantly more then the minimums, so i'm not worried about carrying balances on my credit cards.
Nope.
I pay off my credit card every month. If I don't have the money to cover it, then I don't buy it. It's too bad the rest of the nation doesn't try that out.
No.
Most of us have mortgages or car payments I'm sure.
I spend no more in the typical month on DVDs than I used to spend on rentals, going to the theater, and movie cable channels, but I have a lot more to show for it.
audiomixer, I was just curious about what you do for a living and how much money you make a year.
Hmm... not really. I use my Visa (check-card) for everything... so it's basically the same as cash.
I don't do credit cards, at all.

I make sure I pay off my credit cards IN FULL each month - I even managed to do that after excessive DVD buying during the two 20% sales.
Cash only. (Taken from debit card) That is my "self-limiter"... if it won't fit in the budget, I don't buy all the ones I want that week.
Got bit by credit in the late 80's/90's. Never again! |
The only time I buy larger quantities of dvds is during DDD coupon sales where I use credit, but always pay it off when I get the statement. Otherwise I use cash for my regular dvd purchases, which are not excessive anyways.
I use my CC for online purchases. As soon as the statement comes in I pay the full balance though. It's just easier to use a CC online.
Cash only for DVDs... Credit cards are used for emergencies, clothing, etc, and are always paid off. So, no, no DVD (or home theater gear for that matter) debt at all. Of course, I've always maintained my collection at 300 or under and tend to rotate titles in and out every few months...

I guess one can see it as 'if I didn't buy DVDs I could have paid off my home loan by now' but that isn't so in my case, I would have spent the money on something else. I budget myself and though I'm amazed at how much I spend yearly on DVD I can see every penny of it.
Nope. Don't even use the CC anymore, except for online purchases which isn't often.
My only major debt right now is the mortgage.
Buy all DVDs with check card (cash). |
