Considering one of the subplots of the movie was he was working on software for Y2K, I would say that is accurate! But I've only been waiting a few months, because it hasn't been that long ago that it got announced1

Not looking too good for the inclusion of a commentary. IGN lists the extras reported elsewhere, but no commentary. See this page. Hope the documentary will be informative enough.

GameGenie 08-29-05 09:38 PM

You get a pen and pencil set and a notepad? Those are awesome extras! Just think of all the things you can write down now.

Gizmo 09-19-05 01:12 AM

WOW! I wonder how much it will retail for, $49.99? Sounds like a must-get for me! Can; wait to get a red Swingline Stapler! Maybe it will be 'burnt'?

Cameron 09-19-05 02:50 AM

but is it a swingline

Best Buy has it for $24.99

CertifiedTHX 09-19-05 03:58 AM

I'll be happy with the "Special Edition with Flair!" alone. I can see the logic of a gift set featuring a red Swingline stapler, but the rest of it is a bit much.

matome 09-19-05 08:27 AM

I'll be heading to Best Buy bright and early on 11/1.

Newfrd 09-19-05 09:25 AM

According to the Besy Buy page, the Stapler, Mousepad, Coffee Mug, Magnet picture frame, Notepad, and Pen/Pencil are 'visual downloads' - not sure what that means

Besy Buy

 Screensaver? What a joke that would be.

ShagMan 09-19-05 11:02 AM

HAHAHA, "Visual downloads"... what a load of crap. Best Buy, did you get that memo!!

dvd_luver 09-19-05 11:04 AM

I love this film and I would probably pick this version up at Best Buy, but not if that's the case with the screensaver, no way.

I must say that Gary Coles performance by itself is worth the price of this SE dvd, that and the fact that the whole movie rocks.

MasterCXtreme 09-19-05 05:38 PM

Visual Download? Then how come that special box looks so thick?

I think the term "Visual Download" is just a fancy name for the extras like "With Flair/Holy Shnikies/Re-gift set"... I think you still get the actual gifts.

GameGenie 09-19-05 06:41 PM

Wow thats a great deal.

Gizmo 09-19-05 08:39 PM

Big box for 'visual downloads'.

If it's not, I hope BB has fire insurance.

rotfl
If that BB set has those physical things in it (as opposed to printed material or a screensaver), then I am there.

AGuyNamedMike 09-20-05 09:19 AM

$25? There will be no Swingline™ in that box. Luckily, I already have mine. :D

Regardless, I will be picking this up.

DJ_Longfellow 09-20-05 10:03 AM

I'm sold for $25....nice

wennma01 09-24-05 05:14 PM

is there anyway to get a confirmation as to whether this set has actual things in it or just screensaver-type-thing?

Toben 09-24-05 07:34 PM

Visual downloads or not, I'm not paying an extra $11 (Futureshop has the special edition priced at $16.99 and the exclusive edition priced at $27.99) for a coffee mug, stapler, mousepad, picture frame, note pad and pen/pencil. Perhaps if the extras were actually something worthwhile/collectible. The disc is all I need.

wennma01 10-04-05 11:44 PM

e-mailed bestbuy.com customer service:

"Thank you for contacting Best Buy about the visual download products
that are listed I'm Roxanne with Customer Care.

Visual download items are pictures of these items, not the physical item
itself.

We are sorry for any confusion

We look forward to your next visit to one of our stores or to

They expect people to pay an extra $10 to get a picture of a stapler and coffee mug?

Thanks for checking on that, wennma01. Now I know I don't have to bother with that.

Dash 10-05-05 01:01 AM

This is probably the best comedy movie made imho. Its a must buy.

teamwinfan 10-05-05 06:40 AM

Ughh.. I was very excited when I read about this and thought it was going to have physical items. I was even going to make a special trip while on my honeymoon to get one just incase it sells out fast ala Tommy Boy... I'm very disapointed.. :(

RichardW 10-05-05 07:32 AM

Are they serious? Do they think people will pay extra for pictures?

DJ_Longfellow 10-05-05 07:36 AM

Well, Unsold on the box edition...unless there is something better that they are not telling us.

Big Worms 10-05-05 09:32 AM

No surprise that they are just pictures, but the price does not justify it. No thanks.

steebo777 10-05-05 09:44 AM

I'll pass on the BB version then. Thanks for the email update from BB.
