I pre-ordered mine from Amazon a while ago (along with Mr. Show S4 and THX 1138) and as of today it is still not even listed as "SHIPPING SOON". So I had every item still in my Share The Love so I cancelled the old order and placed the exact same order. Hopefully it'll ship by tomorrow...

I have three stories because I bought it at three different places:
Circuit city: Completely empty store, I go to the register with fry's ad and copy of the trilogy. They price match it and I walk out the door. No problem at all.
Fry's: I go in and the line is already to about the middle of the store. The computer systems go down so there was a small wait. Everyone in line had a silver box in hand. The store was really low on them
Fox Studio store: Walk in, give them my name and they give me a copy and I walk out. good thing I pre-ordered it there. The line was pretty long in the store and they sold out of all the units they got in.

I went out to Walmart about 11:45pm last night and saw my boss's daughter's boyfriend out waiting for the DVDs too. Talked to him for a while, we both bitched about how slow Walmart was getting the DVDs out. Picked up my WS copy, paid for it and walked out.

Went to FRY's to get 2 copies of SW and of course they tried to stop me from getting two. I pointed out, their ad says 1 PER HOUSEHOLD. I was getting one for me and one for my mom's birthday. They live in AZ and im in CA. I said that legally that is how it is defined, they are two seperate households. Now if it was 1 per customer... thats another story. Oh you say that and they cave in and sell you two.

Did anybody else's Best Buy have lifesize "Stormtroopers", a "Darth Vader", and a "Boba Fett"? Mine had 2 troopers standing guard outside the big doors and Darth and Boba walking about the display.
All lifesize and very real replica suits, not just silly Party City costumes. It was quite amusing as I was standing right next to the lot of them and picking up new Green Day and not the trilogy. Pretty funny spectacle all told.
I went with FYE and trying to scam my way to rebate, but got 3 posters that should fetch something on eBay in the meantime. That is all...

Dear Penthouse,
There I was at Future Shop, going towards the large Star Wars display, when I saw her: A short, amorphous being. At first, I thought it was a Jawa, but in fact it was a human female. I was going to talk to her in Galactic Standard, mustering all the Force power I could, but I chickened out.
I then went home and watched the DVDs. Later I found out that I was raped by George Lucas.

Went to Best Buy on my lunch break. Grabbed a Widescreen copy and the free magazine. Paid. Pulled off the shrink wrap while driving. Went back to work. Still at work

I went to Best Buy at around 10:30 this morning, I excitingly picked up my Star Wars dvd set, but maybe even more importantly I helped the widescreen cause. An older gentelman was asking a worker there what the difference was between fullscreen and widescreen, and I pitched in my 2 cents saying that with widescreen you're getting the whole movie, with fullscreen you only getting like half. Well, I think he understood, he picked up a widescreen dvd set, and as they say the rest is history.
I also picked up a Garden State soundtrack so it's been a sweet day.

Went to WalMart at 8am. Picked up my copy and left. Went to Best Buy this afternoon to pick up Star Wars Battlefront for the XBox. I also bought a brand new home theater system to go with that.
Best Buy had this little promotion of 2 Cokes with the full screen copy along with a subscription of some kind. Didn't really pay too much attention to it.

Went to CompUSA before work today, since they usually stock so few DVDs that I was afraid they would run out if I went after work. Turns out they had a whole display of 'em -- and no spots for fullscreen copies.
At least somebody's getting it.

Went to Best Buy at 10:30am. Some guy saw me pick up a Widescreen copy. He asked me if I was getting the full screen. I said "hell no". He then asked why,...so I explained. He put his full screen copy down, and picked up the widescreen version. End of story.

Went to BB at 10am, not as much people as I thought there would be. Picked up 3 copies, PM'ed it with Fry's ad and also picked up Battlefront. Nothing too spectacular...it was craptacular, though, that I could only PM 1 of the Star Wars dvds.
