Your Star Wars DVD Buying Experience

Does anyone have any stories related to buying the DVDs today? I went to Wal-Mart at 12:00 this morning and was surprised to see a mob of people, including a guy dressed as Obi-Wan. There must have been 40 or so people standing around waiting for them to put the display on the floor. Luckily, I had been there for half an hour, so I was right in front. I grabbed mine and got the hell out of there.

I've watched Jedi so far and loved it.

nope - mail works just fine and didnt have to wade through a bunch of wacko nut jobs in costumes or stand in line at the checkout counter - placed my online order, and came right to my door - done deal - no fuss, no muss, no lines, no wasted time.

I bet it would be worth your money to come to Indy in May then, eh?

I went to the midnight sale at best buy, there were a couple of nut jobs in costumes, but ended up having to take my set back this morning because half way through the first movie, it just quit playing. the exchanged set works pretty good so far, but I still have 3 more discs to go through.

Different kind of story. I realized on Saturday that my order from Amazon (STL) was still addressed to my old house. I moved back in June, ordered before then. So now I have to track it down myself. Fortunately my old place isn't too far, and the couple that bought it are friendly enough, I just don't have their phone #.

I showed up at Best Buy around 10:20 to avoid the weirdos dressed like Luke Skywalker, and had no problems. There was one other guy getting a set when I got mine, but that was about it.

Didn't have any problem with the SW set, but Mean Girls rang up for $3 more than the sign, and when he changed it he wanted me to buy two Mean Girls, needless to say it was a MORON moment.

Went to Wal-Mart with a couple of friends, strolled over to the deserted DVD department, picked up a set, paid for it and went home. I know, I know, my heart's racing from all the excitement, too.

Walked into Sam's Club at lunch, passed the pallet of FS and WS, picked one up, triple checked for WS, checked out, got a slice of pepperoni pizza and and a Diet Coke.

It happened here also on A New hope. Has anyone had problems on other disks?

Got mine coming from Amazon. Should have it tomorrow (Wednesday). However this 'freeze up' with ANH has me worried. I'm gonna be pissed if it locks up, because it'll take forever to get a replacement from Amazon.

Went to Wal-Mart this afternoon and saw nothing but FS copies and a whole lot of empty shelving where the WS discs had been. Looked around a bit and found the last two WS copies, grabbed one and happily ran to the register.

Boy those nut jobs dressing up like characters from the movie. Man do they really piss me off. (sarcasm).

I'm going to get mine tonight (if any are left). I sure hope my evening isn't spoiled by overenthusiastic StarWars fans dressing up funny, imagine that, dressing up? What nut cases! Cover your children's eyes when you walk by.

Yes, I'm hostile toward them all. In fact, dressing up like Obi-Wan is a bit like dressing like Bin-Laden when you think about it.

Just thinking about those Wackos is getting me all riled up. I need to go smoke a cigarette, drink a coffee and relax now. (more sarcasm btw)

Went to Target, picked up the silverbox. Also picked up a trash bag container. Put the silverbox in the trash bag container. But not before I made sure to grab the top of the trash bag container which they dont attach to it. idiots. went to the check out line. cute girl. definetly hittable from a dvdtalk standpoint. inserted my card into her machine. signed the machine, but not before she wanted to see my drivers license. her machine spit out my reciept and I though i was done. But no I gotta go thru another idiot wanting to check my receipt when he saw me pay for it not 10 feet away. ego trip probably. went to my car and opened up the box and looked at the dvds i've wanted for over 5 years and thought to myself...."this sure was fucking anti-climatic"
