Got mine from DDD today. # 2312 -Both discs were floating with mild surface scratches But both played with no problems. The print does look quite good, though this is some sick stuff! Thanks for the info on the easter eggs-

I got mine from DDD yesterday and even though disc 2 was slightly loose, there appears to be no damage yet. Incidentally I have #1800.

Dear Michael,
Thanks for your e-mail. We had a very difficult time getting this title manufactured in the US. The job was rejected by every major printer. Therefore, we had no choice but to have the packaging manufactured outside of the US, at great expense. Unfortunately, it looks like some of the units have the problem you are describing. This is especially difficult to deal with since it is a limited, numbered edition. Please provide me with your address and I will send you replacement discs immediately.
Thanks,
Bob Murawski

All this talk, and I completely forgot about this title. I read through the post yesterday and went out to Borders to snag a copy. They had 2 on the shelf one sounded like a maraca (00081/11,111) so I grabbed the other one (00770/11,111). Lucky me, no floaters both discs were snuggly on their hubs.

I picked up a copy from a Borders on Sunday # 11,030!
On Saturday night at another Borders. We located two copies behind the glass dvd collectors case. We asked to see what the prices were, then noticed the disc rattling in the case. So the clerk said he'd open them up to look over. The first set had the second disc look, but no scratches on either disc. So my friend decided to buy it since it's becoming very scarce. He got 30% off it since the clerk gave him a coupon, and thus paid $22 with tax. It was priced at full retail originally.
I looked at the second copy, and unfortunately the second dvd had some really bad scratches on it. So I declined risking the purchase. Since despite the clerk saying they could always reorder the disc and replace it. He did a search of the stores distributor inventory and the disc was now unavailable!
The copy I found at another borders was on 'sale' for $24 and came to $26 with tax. But I bought it anyway, since most online places are running low. The second disc was also loose, but neither were scratched. So I bought it.
I did have a 'funny' check out experiance though. Some conservative uptight looking lady was at the register and said she could help me since the other registers were busy. Then she sees the cover and asks snottily "You want a bag?" and I said "yes please". Then a clerk next to her chimes in "You must have a stronger stomach than me to be buying that!" and laughs. Then continues "I only got 45 minutes into the film, once they shoved that pole through that woman,I turned it off since I was so disturbed!" and the lady was now revolted. I replied maturely with "Yes it is a disturbing film, but is extremely well made,so I have no qualms about owning it...though it is not something to watch often". The clerk agreed and said "Thats true, but its kind of like I Spit On Your Grave,a watch only once type of film, since its so unsettling". The lady then finished processing the transaction with a look of disgust on her face. She wouldn't even hand me the receipt and worriedly tossed it over the dvd cover. Then through her hands up in disgust with an "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW get that away from me" look on her face. I was stumped for a moment wondering "Where's my bag?" then I realized what was going on(she thinks horror is 'evil' and 'corrupting' thus wants to stay away from it at all costs)..laughed to myself...took the dvd and left the store.

You should have taken the slip cover off 'on accident' and shown it to her. That would've made her day

Yes I could have since the dvd was not sealed since I asked a clerk to please open it,since the discs sounded loose.
It was interesting to say the least on Saturday night looking at the inside of the packaging with its graphic photo of the impaled lady in public. But since it was later,no one was around to really see and be offended. The clerk was curious though and said the film looked freaky, but wasn't offended.

Woah, it's rare meeting someone who has heard of Cannibal Holocaust or I Spit On Your Grave let alone someone who has seem both (sorta)! I would have been very impressed. Was it a female? cause if so that's a marriage proposal on the spot!
